    Already tried a set of '05 600RR forks I had laying around, they're too short(same as 1000RR).

I know of another guy who put 929/954 forks on an 86 750 track bike, and he's having problems with the tire rubbing the cylinder head under hard braking... :ninja:

Rear tire is a garbage Cheng Shin 190, it will be swapped out for a 180 Pirelli Diablo soon. The 190 is too wide. I have the chain lined up correctly using a VF500 hub in the 900RR wheel and there will be a very thin spacer to separate the hub from the swingarm. I also have to cut down the sprocket studs and use smaller nuts to hold the sprocket in order to clear the arm.

The swingarm will be braced, not just for the tire, but also because I might be cutting a section of it out on the front right side to accomdate the up pipe for the dual carbon exhaust.

Matt, what tail is that, and is the subframe modified? It looks like it's bolted to the stock location.

Have you checked the dimensions at all? Who cares what other people say. If it fits, do it.

Didn't they make a 1000 cc version for that year? Just a thought it could be easier since they should be compatible. With swapping a different engine from a different generation you might have to swap the tank as well because they are tightly integrated with each other.

And while you're at it might as well replace the dash with a 5th gen dash so you can get the tach/speedo/gas guage. Oh and while you're at it go ahead and get 5th gen plastics to make it all fit. oh, and get a single swing arm....

no they didnt make the 1000r that year and im sure it might fit but i want a fuel injected motor and something that will respond well to mods and so far keeping with the v-4 thats the 5th gen engine, ( oh lets not forget the that lovely sound to) the tank will require some work to fit the fuel pump in it but! these bikes already came with a fuel pump so i maybe able to make that work and it will be getting the single sided swing arm as well but the fairings are gone be wild

I've found that the VTEC and 5th gen tank would be really easy to fit to the 1st & 2nd gen frames. They don't look right with stock bodywork, but since you're changing that up anyway...

I have a nice pearl white one here with an easy dent on one side, yours for $50 plus shipping.

Just had a thought, you might want to check out motorcycle junkyards and see if they have a 5th gen motor and ask to look at it. Then you bring your frame and see if the mounting bolts line up or see if they can be improvised. That way you can tell for sure if a 5th gen motor is compatible instead of crossing your fingers.

How are you going to fab mounts? I've heard more than one person say this and was wondering what material and design might be strong enough.
