I use Faster motorsports off of I-25 and 8th ave(Denver). They do very good work and are more than happy to walk you through everything, step by step.
I've also heard good things about Erico motorsports which I believe, may be in the Springs. Not sure if they have a dyno or not.

Hey Chill, In all of this the point was somewhere lost. As Norcal pointed out, your going to have to have the 02 elims. to get a dyno. Faster Motorsports won't touch a VFR without them. It's really no worry however, you'll need two of them and I want to say they run about $20 each. Faster will include the install in the dyno fee, about $250 or $300 all said and done, after you"ve purchased the PCIII of course.

I agree, and that was the point that I was trying to make initially. If you look at Dynojet's website you'll find this:

It's pretty clear that Dynojet doesn't believe that their product requires any dyno time to be usable. (You could argue with them, I suppose, but it is their successful product, after all, so you'd think they'd know.)

I also think there are plenty of VFR owners (and others) out there who are quite happy with maps that they have downloaded. Here's a thread about that from "the other" VFR forum: Power Commander Maps cozye_ver5.djm - Famous vtec pc3 USB map. - VFRD

Oh, completely off topic. I went to Infineon on Wednesday with the RC51. I took it to a performance shop in the business park next to the track during the lunch break and had them throw it on the dyno just for fun. 132 bhp (red line), 78 lb-ft (orange line)... plenty for me! Here's the graph:

As you can see, the Air/Fuel mixture (green line) isn't so great, but it isn't noticeable (other than knocking down my gas mileage, as if I care about that!) and doesn't have any negative effects on real-world performance (according to my butt-dyno, anyway). I probably won't mess with it. If I can find a great deal on a PCIII and I've got $300 burning a hole in my pocket, maybe. But, frankly, I'd rather spend the $600 on more track days and tires.

'nuf said, I think. Hopefully this post won't generate the personal attacks that my last ones did.

The "EX" was created to satisfy the California Air Resources Board, which is slowly (but surely) tightening emissions standards for motorcycles. Since that's the biggest market for two-wheeled vehicles in the country, I think Dynojet figured it was easier to play along than to fight it, so they came out with a version of the PC that has less adjustability in order to satisfy the CARB. From reading their website (Power Commander Product Information) it seems that they're targeting it primarily at HD riders.

Bottom line, I think, is that you don't want it, unless you have a Harley and/or live in CA and you are worried that someday you may have to get your bike smogged in order to renew the registration. Of course, if that ever happens it would be a relatively simple matter to disable the PC temporarily, but I would never advocate skirting the rules/regs of this lovely-but-sooooo-dysfuncational paradise we have here.

Hey CHICK, thanks for posting your curves. If I can get more litterate on this machine I'll post mine for comparison. Granted they'll be VFR numbers vs. RC51 numbers but the improvements over stock should show about the same thing regardless of the model.

One of the big things, and I don't have the charts in front of me, is that my stock ride had something like a 12HP dip right before the VTECH. After the PCIII,02's,and custom map that HP drop was more like 1 or 2.

I'll bring my curves in to work on Mon. and see if one of my employees can help me get them posted.

yodasmile I can testify by my own personal experience with the PC3, that it does smooth everything up. From throttle response to VTEC transition. Before I installed the PC3, my precious was rough as a bronco, jumpy, used to stall when opening the throttle, and don't mention the VTEC transition. After installing the PC3, Throttle response, shifting, and VTEC transitions got smoother...Way smoother. My precious became a civilized piece of fine Japanese engineering.

I didnt installed the O2 eliminator thinking that I didnt needed it, but reading about it here made change my mind(The ECU still tries to compensate for the changes made by the PC3, so getting the O2 eliminators fixes that), I ordered them and installed them today. The bike idle RPM went from 1,212rpm to 1,597rpm. So it does have it benefits. I had to readjust the rpm's using the adjusting screw and using the PC3 + My laptop rpm readout as a guide.

I had the Leo Vince Map installed. I heard abot the famous cozey cumtom map, and downloaded it to see if it works better for me. So far the reviews for the maps are excellent, so lets see. I'll test it tomorrow.

So I would say that if you have the money to invest on a PC3, go ahead and buy it. You'll see the difference.

    My Current Setup:
    -PC3 USB w/t O2 Elim.
    -BMC Filter
    -OEM Exhaust Baffles Removed
    -Pair Valve Blocked

FYI, I came across the following today. It's a summary statement regarding a new law that's currently working its way through the California legislature. Looks like the handwriting is on the wall here in sunny CA! :frown:

SB 435, as introduced, Pavley. Smog check program: motorcycles. Existing law establishes a motor vehicle inspection and maintenance program (smog check), administered by the Department of Consumer Affairs, that provides for the inspection of motor vehicles upon registration, biennially upon renewal of registration, upon transfer of ownership, and in certain other circumstances. Existing law exempts from biennial inspection all motorcycles until the department implements test procedures applicable to motorcycles. Violations of smog check requirements are a crime. This bill would require the department to include model-year 2000 and newer motorcycles in the smog check program beginning January 1, 2012.

    Waking a sleeping thread.

Have an 02 VFR with Two Borthers VALE Exhaust and PC III USB. In the process of doing the O2 elimination. I have a question regarding the FI light? Once the O2 elimination is complete the FI light should no longer turn on right? I mean the following case,
"turn on key, FI light comes on and Fuel injector pump turns on (you can hear it), Light goes out and bike is ready to start." Found this statement in the Mechanics Garage Archive.

    Xeipher.

The fuel injection light should ALWAYS turn on when the key is in the on position and go off after the stop switch is in the "run" position and the fuel pump is primed.

+1, I've got the set up you're talking about and the FI light operates as if nothing has changed.
