AttaBoy! i posted some data previously, Nicky hasn't won a race since the 990's, Pedrosan is starting injured, but he will finish the year with good results. I can't wait to see how the race goes.

In practice today, Nicky and Dani really didn't throw down any great times, but the fact that Dani was within .6 of Hayden's best lap, until about 5 minutes to go in the session is promising. Dani ended up ridng 17 laps, which is a good sign if he is to actually start on Sunday. Final FP1 placings, Dani 18th (slowest time), Nicky 13th.

I would have to give my editorial nod to Pedrosa having a better day (questionable day for both), Nicky in 13th and looks to still be coming to grips with the desmo, while Dani not being expected to actually make the race, rides a full session and puts in 17 laps. Tomorrows session will provide further insight into the weekend's potential for both.

true Hayden has 1 moto gp and Edwards has 2 WSBK but not too impressed with past two seasons. Danny has been better.
But Rossi will take it AGAIN this year.

Danny will be second - Stoner 3rd cause Rossi will upset him again this season

The 800cc bike is a winner, 4 more times than the one that had the 69 on it. The smaller bike is an aerodynamic advantage due to less frontal area of the fairing. Doesn't require as much hp to push through the air. But we all know it's a honda/pedrosa conspiracy :ninja: to get Nicky to leave the team, we'll just build a smaller bike and squeeze you out.

I agree. I don't see anyone or any team ready to take down Rossi this year. If anyone beats Rossi, it will be a major upset and a very convincing and well earned championship.

Weight and height are factors to be sure. If a rider was say three feet tall and weighed 65 lbs he or she would have a definite advantage over another rider that was 6' 11" and came in at 275. All other things being equal.

Well, well.....it would seem that an injured Dani and his RCV is worth at least half a second more than a fully healthy Nicky and his DesmoR. After FP2 at Qatar, Dani has made some pretty decent gains over yesterday, Nicky seems to have gotten a bit lost with his setup and is now slower than he was in FP1. QP is coming up in a few hours and we'll see how they qualify. Currently, Dani has the measure of Nicky Melandri.

It's only practice and qualifying. Let's see where the chips fall when the flag is dropped.

    What's the wager?

And just for the record, I'll state the obvious. Comparing Dani's vs Nicky's results is not a fare comparison. Dani has had the last 3 full seasons plus this pre-season on the Repsol Honda. Nicky has had just the pre-season to adjust to a new bike and new team. IMO, that is not a fair comparison. Dani better be able to finish higher in the standings, it's HIS bike, HIS show now at Honda. He has NO more excuses. Now is the time to shut up and ride.

    NCB,

Just out of curiosity, are you watching the FP1, FP2 and QP somewhere online? Satellite TV? Of just on MotoGP's website results?

I am all for a Honda being on the podium. I do not even truly dislike Pedrosa. It would, however, be nice if Honda's front man had a better reputation.
I am sort of a fan of Hayden(being the down home boy and all) and am sorry to see him not progressing as I had hoped with the new bike.

No worries. Stoner put the Ducati on the top of board in FP2. So the bike definitely has the capability to win. And I have total confidence in Nicky's ability. It's just going to take him some time to harness the Ducati's power and abilities. He's ridden Honda's for the last 11 years, a Ducati is a completely different beast. He'll get there. No worries.

Bought the Single Event MotoGP package

It's raining cats and dogs here and I've spent about 5 hours watching archives video of MotoGP.
One thing I'll add, I love Nicky Hayden and hope he has a good year. A few podiums and a top 5 overall would be a thrill for me.
Jorge Lorenzo looked like a Rossi beater at the beginning of last year. Crashes and injury kept him from rising-IN HIS ROOKIE YEAR. If you look at some of his 250 races, he is remarkably similar to Rossi.
Don't care to wager, but Stoner, Rossi, and Lorenzo (not necessarily in that order) are my picks for season champ.
Pedrosa is machine, but that means someone else is at the controls. In my opinion, he'll never take the championship. If Rossi retires, Simoncelli is on the way to keep a technician like DP off the championship podium.
    JM2C.
    Enjoy race weekend, racefans!
