    1985 vf700f and I have no temp gauge :(

my bike is overheating when i push it. if I shift at 7k its fine but just now on the way to arbys ( 15 minutes ) with a passenger ( 150 lbs ) I was shifting at around 10k, it died on me as I came to a stop. It started right back up and I pulled into arbys. It sat for about 10 minutes and had no problem getting us home, but I was shifting at around 6k. The reason I am thinking it is overheating is I could feel the warmth of the coolant on my legs ( my overflow tank is under the seat ) Previosly I rode her very soft and shifted around 4-5k never had this problem. Any ideas?

check your thermostat if it's not that then your water pump is going bad.

No coolant leak. The oil leak is very minor... maybe a few drops every day. Ordered valve cover gaskets. And I had never ran it out of oil like I first thought. Gonna check the thermostat.

Thanks brotha. I was just reading your epic saga ( 7 page post ) about your bike. I am halfway through. Kick ass stuff going on there, I hope it has a happy ending. Ok back to reading.
