hey. i made it home safely. with 1 stop just outside santa barbara to debug our helmets and stretch the legs, and 1 stop god knows where to fuel up and grab some chow. traffic was fine up until we got near LA (naturally). 228 miles door to door in exactly 4.5 hours. certainly no land record but we did stop for a sit-down lunch and gas up.
i parted with long and nardy at sunset blvd and 405.
they continued south to nardy's place in long beach and long has about another 90 minutes after. sucks for him but he's a trooper.

Im back home now too (for good) 3 different trips up to Reg's. Im beat, but not as much as Reg and the rest of the crew. We left Reg when he passed out on the couch.

I'll check out the pics and video from the weekend and post them up very soon. Gonna sit back now, rehydrate and watch the WSB race with Suzy when she gets home.....

Great weekend, great weather, great people, and even greater hosts. Thanks Reg and Terri for your hospitality.

    See you guys soon.

1st of all, THANKS A LOT TO REG AND TERI for being a great host! made it home safe and sound BUT with a little, minor incident that raised my pulse rate. after we split with bob, long and i headed home to get some of his stuff. somewhere along the way, my cargo net got disengaged from the hooks and somewhat, somehow, my saddle bags sagged toward the wheels and felt like a FLAT! just about the same time, i see long approaching fast and pointing to my tires! we moved from the carpool lane to the shoulder and fortunately, only my bags got burned( from the friction with the tires) and not a flat. YOU DO NOT WANT TO GET A FLAT TIRE 7 MILES FROM HOME AFTER A DAY OF RIDING!!!

It was a pleasure to meet all you guys at SLO3!

Just made it home myself. Toecutter and Bubba should be home by now, and drewl on his way to susanville.

Pretty uneventful other than my battery/charging system being completely f*&$ing dead. I had to bump start the bike in the morning and after every stop after that. Couldn't let the revs get too low or I lost my speedo and tach, and any further than that, it died. Any ideas???

Lastly, thanks a ton to Reg and Teri! This is definitely my most memorable weekend in a not so recent memory. Also, thanks to everyone who participated in anyway! I'm glad I got to know you all. Maybe once my roommate moves out, I'll host Sac I!

good deal. we actually did I little more riding today but not the miles you did. We have some more video footage we posted up on the live feed site...

I ened up crawling to the bedroom and napping for an hour... I feel a little better now. Time for another beer. Yeah, it was a great weekend and you are welcome as always.

phew! good thing you are okay. good thing you have a backup set of bags eh?

We knew it was only a matter of time before it went down. Drew will be chomping at the bit to go to the tiger thread and fill it up...

I made it home about 5pm. Had to feed birds and stuff before sitting down to VFRW though. Hey Marrib, thanks so much for making my trip a little easier... I don't care what people say about trailering the bikes... it made for an easier and more fun trip!! I've already paid my dues with as much as 13 hours on the bike in one stretch so I have nothing to prove...

OtherBubba and ToeCutter... you BETTER come stay with me when you make your way through Vegas!! I might even ride out to AZ with you then head back on my own, if you're open to that.

Also, OtherBubba... I think you need to have a coffin made so you can feel comfy sleeping at home!!

Wow... so weird knowing everybody by REAL name and having to stretch the mind to think of their VFRW name, instead of vice versa... that's pretty cool!!!

Once again, a huge thank you to Reg and Terri... and Jorden for letting me have her room. Gosh, and thank you to ALL of you for being such great people and so much fun!!

Well the Surfer is home. After a boring and lonely trip down 101 and 880 I'm back with the family. The ride gave me time to realize how lucky we all are to have such a great host in Reg and Teri allow a bunch of dirty bikers to sleep all over their home. I hope the smell goes away quickly... I guess you can't tell with Reggie's musical "gifts". He sure knows how to clear a room!

Thanks again! It was great meeting everyone especially the great Prime Minister and Crazy Canuck Randy! Everyone be safe and we'll see you at SLO IV!
