And there's the problem. Couple grand cheaper and I would seriously consider it. Not that I think it's overpriced, I couldn't justify it.

Where have you been Emon? That is one of the most discussed subjects of both VFRD and VFRworld. Looks like a good product.

Jezz - I would love to. But I've already dumped about $5k into my ride and its only worth mbe $4500 anyhoo.

The only way I could see doing it is if I decided to build the ultimate VFR. It would start with a 6th gen frame and use a 5th gen engine. Which body TBD. Ohlins front forks and rear shock. Penske in the rear works too. Carrozzeria wheels. You get the idea.

    MD,
I was thinking along the same lines. We picked up some lottery tickets today and I was thinking about dropping a 5th gen Torocharged motor into my frame and then getting custom suspension parts at both ends. It'd be worth it just to see the look on the squids faces as you blew by them.

SOME guy is selling a dream and has some dreamers lined up for the taking.....

That kind of HP will chew up your transmission gears and destroy the clutch in short order. The bike was not designed to handle that much extra power, and parts would fail one after another.

ALSO, the cooling system is inadequate to dissipate that much extra heat: Horsepower= heat!!

Well Squirrelman, should I win the lottery, I'd be willing to take that risk.

    Supercharged Goldwing

In the name of friendlyness- I think RC46 meant, "what cave have you been living in?" To crawl out from under a rock implies you are an insect or slime.
I currently own a low-miles 1982 GL1100 with a magna60 supercharger bolted on top. It has a custom made intake plenum to feed 4 intakes, the charger, and then a single Weber carb stacked on top into the hollow gas tank. The 8-10 psi boost is set by the size of the pulley running on the front down to the timing pulleys. It was a kit sold in the 70's. Believe it sold for about 800 rocks. I didn't build it, bought it from a Goldwing collector about 3 years ago.
Believe it or not, I've lifted the front end of that 650 pound hoss! It produces more power in all revs, no turbo lag. Also amazing, at 70-80 mph highway cruising, you can crack the throttle and leap up to 90-100 like it was in low gear. Arm pulling power is no exaggeration.
Superchargers are nothing to be afraid of. They've been used in racing and high-HP applications for almost a century. You just need to tune the cycle for its new diet-packed in oxygen.
Problems I've had are tuning the Weber. I'm still working out the settings, 3 years later. Used the cycle for touring, not drag racing, so clutch and engine are good so far.
This kit looks very well made. I like their marketing campaign. "Instead of buying a new bike, make yours a monster".
    It's still a lottery fantasy, but I own a 4th gen anyway.

Out of curiosity what is he asking for the toro charger kit? I dont know if any of you have ever chated with the guy but he seems very down to earth and obviosly quite the craftsman/mechanic. A few months ago I looked him up on the darkside(AKA VFRD) to ask him about his bodywork(lower fairings) and he was glad to be very helpfull as to what and how he made the mod. I am not so interested in having 160 RWP for my bike but if I was I would go this route with good confedence in a quality product before buying a new bike!

$5495 +shipping. Take a minute and read over the website. It's right on the product information page for the 5th Gen.
