Bike is looking great man!!. How well do the 1000 side covers fit? do they clip to at least two of the mount points?

The rear tab and the lower tab on each panel fit the 750 spots. The tabs at the front that go on the tank do not match. I'm adding a new mount location on the tank to fit the panels.

Paint is either going to be 1984 RW&B, or the 84 scheme in black, white & grey.

How much are you looking to spend? I have a spare set, I think all the tabs are there, but will have to double check.

VERY COOL NICE WORK. Did the oil mod myself not to hard, two tuff times drilling the case ( just cause your drilling the case) and fitting the braided lines onto the AN fittings.

Using the 750 crank and rods with the 700 pistons is a good swap. It will give you 11.2:1 compression ratio. The 750 and 700 deck height is the same. The stroke was shortened on the 700 and Honda used longer rods to push the piston up. The dome on the 700 pistons is taller to maintain 10.5:1 on the 700, and that's why if you use the 700 piston with the 750 crank/rods you get an increased c.r. This is a good hop up and though 11.2:1 sounds high it runs on pump gas. Will post some piston pics if there is interest.

Is this mod exclusive to the Vf or would the 87 also be included?

I'm not positive, but I want to say yes.

I don't see why Honda would change the block or heads when they'd already done the same thing on the earlier model. Can't shim the heads on the 86-2001, because of the gear drive cams.

Look up Dave Dodge and call him to find out for sure!
