new model - the real deal :)

Some of you will remember my post from sometome ago,then i was smashed on this forum and month or so after that honda announced v4.

So to bring everyone quickly on the subject...

I work in a major exhaust company located in eastern Europe.
Yes i have seen the new bike(s).
No i cant take the photos.

Firstly the v5 is cancelled.why?because it cant reach euro4 eco norms.it can but the performance and behaviour of the engine is not good.Europe is the biggest market so...

That is why new vfr is not out yet because it was due to come out in berlin for anniversary.but it did not

Instead there is newly developed v4(specs below)in two flavors

one for new cbr and one tuned variable vtec:

998 cm3

cbr 201 hp
vfr 145 hp (sport mode)

The bike has 3 modes for engine operation
rain,touring,sport.weighs 211kg fully loaded
vtec rpm range mapper adjust or off.button or lever gear change,auto or manual down shifting.adjustable windshield.
It HAS a single sided arm,combined cbs anti lock,and you can adjust suspension stiffness via button.

From engineering side it is brilliant as far i can tell

From estethic side i cant tell.why?i have seen the new cbr and the way it looks,but for vfr there is 7 various molds of how the plastics will look.
That is why honda is pooling for opinions on their v4 site so go there and do the survey.

The bike(to me)looks fantastic in 5/7 molds and the sound is abnormal

And not to forget,the bike with camouflage molds will be tested in next 3 months on racetrack Grobnik,Rijeka,Croatia - the same where aprilia tested rsv4

Please consider why would Honda develop new v4 and do a concept survey if not for vfr and/or cbr?
certainly not for scooter They are extremly careful about new Vfr because it is a bestseller and an icon,at least here in Europe so they are very aware of what is at stakes here.
Vfr = mucho dinero or lost of status

i forgot to mention that rsv4 messed up plans for them a bit,for a cbr version.

Here ya go {Ha it's called Google it) only thing is, I've been there done it. and I am not a fan of where this is going. I mean that concept bike is so over the top, how could any one in their right mind make a decision based off that concept bike. IMO it's not even in the ball park in what I'd like to see happen.

Also, where's that thread that shows the new engine set up? The 2 cylinders forward are single cam standard, and the rear 2 is a mix muti task Vtec

 

That concept is designed to pool the "flavour" of the "plastics" and the general appearance of the bike.if you read the questions Honda is asking you,it will be clear that they are not sure where to drive (in wich direction)the new vfr.

They sure would like to cover as much personal preferences as they can since they want to continue vfr sales in Europe.

yea yea yea I get that, but they (Honda) at the least could have started with something a bit more realistic.
God only knows what they are up too. Pretty much have crossed it of the list to ever happening now that the economy is in the toilet. that and I don't think they really give a tinkers ass what we think, if they did we'd have our new VFR by now. I mean we have only been screaming for one for how long?

Still interesting but now it seems to be more drama sorry to say. I remember when it was fun to drool over what was to come. Now it's just a PITA

everyone just chill. we all know a new model is out for 2010, lets just enjoy what we have for now, the new model with surface soon enough, as the year goes on honda and others will only seek to feed to the rumour mill to stir up interest in their next best thing. we all now what we want to see from the next vfr lets just hope Honda delivery and dont disappoint,

Sorry but it should read "a new model is out for fill in the blank". With all the BS about THE NEW VFR over the last several years, I'll believe there is a new VFR when I can physically put my hands on one.
