Mike, have you taken 41E from 101 then 229 S through creston to Hwy58? If not, you must give it a run. They resurfaced 229 a couple years ago, and it is relatively unused since its out in the country and narrow. You more than likely will see other bikes. I think the 5-O is getting wise to it, though as I saw 2 CHiPs sitting at the end of the other day. It's too twisty to be going too fast anyway, though. It's the highest concentration of curves in a short distance that I have found. I also like Old creek rd off 46 heading out to cayucos but since it got so hot, the tar strips are like snot. Very weird feeling when you hit them. Makes my butt pucker just thinkin bout it. ;)

My '94 had done ~150,000km when I wrote it off. I racked up 95,000km. My 2000 model had just under 27,000km on the clock when I bought it, it now has done just under 63,000km.

If you decide to do your own oil changes, look in the VFR Info area for multiple how-tos that can save you a few bucks.

Yes, I know what you mean about the tar snakes- they're not something I mess with. Today I was back out on HWY 41 towards Morro Bay. Simply too hot here in Paso at 103 degrees. I do not remember whether I shot you my phone number or not so I'll send it over in a PM.

I have 20,000km's (approx 12,000miles) on my 2002 model. I have personally put approx 8,000 on it in the past 12 months since buying it.

Thought I'd clarify my "< 10000 miles" vote. I bought my '06 in July and have 4000 miles on it. My previous '00 had about 37K on it and my '95 had about the same!

I'm hoping that others in the < 10K grouping are in the same boat and that the high number doesn't reflect a lack of riding!

I have 17,256 at the moment. Had 10,022 when I bought it two years ago in August. Not as many miles as I'd like:-(

Anyway, the valve check is due and I am wondering if it should be done. The 97 runs great! What's you all thinks?

I just bought a '94 with almost 55k. Joe's post makes me feel way more confident about putting a bunch more miles on the VFR. Honda should use some of these high mileage rides as ad material.

My 2000 has 66,000 km plus. Too much trouble to convert to miles at the moment. I would have more, but I was deployed to Kosovo and Iraq during my ownership of this baby.
