Hi all!...just picked up my first sport-touring bike ever..grew up riding enduro's from a child to my teen years. After a 27 years absence I decided to buy a bike last spring in order to ease up the need with 2 teenage daughters wanting a car to drive. Not wanting to jump into anything hasty I decided on the fat tire T-Dub..I was hooked..this past few weeks I was getting antsy for something I could take out on the open road. I had planned to see 3 bikes one Saturday, a VFR and 2 Katanas..but never made it past the first stop a 1991 VFR750, kept immaculate by it's previous owners. I have never ridden anything larger than a 250cc before...well I am so happy I puchased this bike..I knew as soon as I saw it.. that this bike is right for me. One of the previous owners included a disc with old magazine articles on the VFR from 90-93, I admit that when I bought the bike I went strictly on looks and styling but after getting it home and going thru the articles, it confirmed to me a steep and highly regarded history..I will get some pics when the weather warms up..cheers all and look forward to reading thru the forums.
Welcome to the forum and congratulation on your new bike. You will enjoy her for many years to come. Cheers
Welcome SWVFR, Congratulations and welcome! There are a bunch of Canadians here, some crazier than others...right Randy? Cheers and ride safe!:vtr2:
My friend, you have no idea what you've just done to yourself! Welcome to the madness. We look forward to encouraging your VFR addiction at every possibility. Welcome aboard!
Good move !! The worst thing about that generation VFR is the fairings.......getting them on and off is a real pain on that bike with lots of small, hard-to-reach, multiple-sized, fiddly fasteners everywhere.
Thanks All!...bike came with 54,000km and paid 3500.00CDN...even thou a lil higher kms than I was looking for in a bike...but it has been kept mint by previous owner and the few that owned it before..engine extremly clean, exhaust had been taken off and coated along with a Hindle slip-on..everthing else is original..one of the previous owners move the reg. up farther on the frame, so I guess that mod. has been taken care of.
Welcome to VFRW! I started riding again last year after 16 years of hibernation. Got a 92 vfr last year then sold it after 2 months to buy a 2002 vtech. I missed my '92 and been searching since late last year. Well, earlier this month, I was lucky enough to find a '93 in great condition but in Az, so I took the bus to Phoenix then rode it back to LA. Enjoy your vfr and again, WELCOME! Here's a link to my mini adventure: http://vfrworld.com/forums/usa-west/21720-lone-ranger.html
