Not on two wheels. I would like to see the track this season but I may put that on hold as the wife is now talking about getting a bike for herself. Looking for a 250 Ninja. Figure if she doesn't like it I can have fun on it. So, well see how that pans out. Been tooling around on my buddies 09 R6S and it makes me wanna buy another bike! I was really surprised how easy it is to ride that bike!

Ok Sounds good. If your wife is looking at a good beginner bike, don't forget about the Suzuki SV-650. Its a relatively tame bike, and when she gets comfortable riding, then she still has a good bike with enough power to keep her happy for a while to come.

Don't ask advice from my wife b/c she went directly to a Ducati Monster S2r for her first bike, and what a sweet bike that is.:reg:

Yea your wifes bike is very nice!! Well I think we are going to head over to colemans so she can sit on a wide verity of bikes. Right now she is digging an 08 black ninja 250. She liked the FZ6R but then she sat on it and said it felt too big for her. 5'-3" on a good day!

If this all comes together and she starts to ride we should meet up sometime and do a husband and wife ride.

That Aprilia RSV4 is kicking butt in WSBK! Pretty damn good for something just out of the box. Makes me wonder if we might not see V4s sportbikes from most of the manufacturers over the next 5 years.

The rsv4 is doing great for a bike that just started out this year and from what I heard basically little to no track testing was performed.

Yea Matt, lets try to hook up for some laid back rides this year. Sounds good to me.

And in regard to why Aprilia is doing so good this year, it is all b/c of its amazing pilot Max Biagi.

well all signs are pointing south for the wife to get a bike this year. She got her mind set on the fz6r and she ended up not being happy with the cost of payment plus insurance. With this not being the time to buy something used, we are going to put this off for a while. Kinda sad. We were both looking forward to getting out and having fun.

On a plus side, my Aplinestar SG-1 suit showed up yesterday. Put it on last night and I didn't want to take it off!! Got it from newenough for $513 shipped. Pretty much all the sites out there right now are listing the Octane and the SG-1 for $499 plus shipping. So far I think the fit and finish of the suit is awesome!! I also picked up a knox back protector and I should be getting a chest plate soon. Add in my A* GP+2's gloves and I think I'm set for track gear!!

    Matt,

Just out of curiosity, why isn't this the time to buy a used bike vs. a new bike? B/c it is easier to get a loan on a new bike?

It is a bit easier to get a loan for a new bike but the problem with used bikes is that they are on the up swing in pricing with the season about to start.

True, but there is always a deal to be had out there on a used bike if you are patient enough when shopping for one.

yea we are in the wait and see mode. Right now I think we are going to redirect our focus in continuing to make improvements to the house. Pay off some debt that was accrued with the purchase of said house.

Rt 2 South to Jim Morris Rd (609), across 17 to Macedonia, right onto Stonewall Jackson Rd, left Edgehill Academy Rd, that puts you out on Paige.

I've really started to enjoy Edgehill as I'm learning it better. Unfortunately every turn is blind and no lines. Ride it knowing that there will be a truck in your lane around each bend. But the pavement is so smooth and the turns are so sweet I can't help but twist it every time. Can't wait for this stupid rain to quit!

I'm scrapping the track idea I think and going to Deal's Gap instead. Leaving Tuesday morning, returning Thursday evening. If anybody can tell their boss to bug off you're more than welcom to come. NO TRAILERS! This will be my last chance for adventure til fall so I'm meeting my best friend down there as he makes his way back home from Loosiana. So far the weather looks good, hi's in the mid 60's all 3 days, no real chance for rain. One day down, a day to play, and one day back. Its about 500 miles each way. Easy...

Hell yeah! My first track day was a lot more fun for this reason. There were 4 Ducs out there (one brand new 1098, complete with brand new Corse leathers) and I destroyed every last one of them on my $1k Superhawk. It was like taking candy from a baby. And I was wearing the newbie bright yellow jersey to rub it everyone's face. I know I know, its not a race. But if that was me on a $20k machine getting smoked like it was my first time on 2 wheels I would have felt like I just lost something very important.

As for technique, I think you're a little ahead of yourself. The RC51 is not a good learning bike at all. The VFR wouldn't be bad. I definitely prefer the Superhawk for everything, even track. I'll be using it til I'm good and refreshed before the Beast comes out.

I just picked up my VFR yesterday and took her for a quick ride around the block. Now she has 4 miles on the Odo. Can't wait to get her broken in and do some real riding.

Yeah, I've got every weekend off so that'll be nice.

Welcome aboard DIMford. Any pics? I just discovered some side bags on Ebay for slightly less than the factory bags. Might be worth a shot if you're looking to go that route. And if you plan on riding with us you'll need them to haul enough stuff to come play for a weekend.

Congrats on the RWB VFR! I'm not that far from you, so if you've got a ride planned, let me know. I've been where you were, but I think I had more than 4 miles on the bike before I got home. That first 600 miles is challenging since you can't really take advantage of the VTEC until its over.
