Hey I have a small Garmin GPS I want to mount on my bike, but I am clueless as to how I can get power to it, because I am new at working on bikes. Is there a wiring harness or some kind of kit for this? If so, where do I get it from? Any help on this would be greatly appreciated...

Easy to do. Get the power cord from cyclegadgets.com

Once you have that, remove your upper fairing and find the connector that would be used to power the optional clock (having a manual helps). Use a meter to figure out which wire are 12v hot and connect your new cable to those two wires.

You'll need to cut off quite a bit of the cord (it comes pretty long) since you only have to go a short distance. Measure twice, cut once.

I have this set up on my 93 powering my Garmin GPSMap60c and works like a champ.

no problems when the bike is running, just unplug/turn off the gps when the bike gets shut off. i did that method besause i could use the same cable to charge up my phone, camera, or other electronics, not at the same time of course.
