Oh and, Dunlops are notoriously wide tires. It doesn't make sense really, but Michelin tires are narrower than Dunlops - you might have been able to fit the Michelin 160 in there.

we might be takling about different valves but all vf500's had 8 valves per head? 16 valve motor... 4 valves per cylinder

Also, with the stock sprocket config i've never been able to get it to redline in 6th. It just doesnt have enough power to push it that fast. How fast have you been able to push it with the -3? Will it do about 60mph in first with that set up? Mine redlines at 45mph in first and 60mph in second

Damn matt, at this rate you're gonna have to get another bike ready out of the box.

Edit: In case your bike isn't ready by the 28th/29th ride you could even ride up in your cage at the meetup point and you can ride my bike for a little while. Hell for that matter, you could let me drive your souped up supra

I apologize if this has already been covered, but have you thought about turn signals yet? You know some slimmer more aerodynamic ones. On my old nighthawk 750 I put aftermarket zx14 ones up front and in the back I put eliminators on that wired into the brake lights. I haven't seen your bike in person, but if you have dual side by side bulbs in the brake light housing this would be a great option. With LED's it works and looks great! It really slims the bike down and cleans it up.

Mathematically, you *should* go faster on top by going down in teeth. Unfortunately, it doesn't work that way in real life. Go back up to 43 and -1 in front, or go to 46 i nthe rear and stock front, you will have higher top speed.

The bike won't pull to redline in stock trim, changing the final drive ratio will allow you to pull harder up there.

Good to hear that you got it all together! It won't be long until you are dragging pegs I'm sure.

another good and cheap mod i did to this bike is the clutch line, to it seems the clutch enages smoother faster and harder, then before but the down side to that is there is more pressure at the lever.
