im no expert but i dont see how the tread pattern can make the tire perform well on anything other than near perfect road conditions

Is this a real tread pattern that's gonna be offered to the public? is that some kind of publicity stunt?

I will be the first mo-fo to buy them if they are better than the stradas and michelin pr2's mileage and grip wise. I love my stradas.

EDIT: WHOOPS, you said front! my bad. Um perhaps. or you can run the strada.

    in regard to the rears:
they have plenty. In fact they a more aggressive tread pattern than the Diablo Stradas which pretty much have a slick down the middle of the tread and even they handle great in the rain. Better wet grip than any other sport touring* except the PR2's and that's only because the PR2's are dual compound.

    Diablo Stradas:

*there are other tires with better wet grip, but not in the "sport touring" class or with comparable mileage life.

now that looks more usefull. but it seems that the design will be worn out very quickly... so whats the point.

Straight from the Pirelli Product page:

"ANGEL ST has a unique personality which is communicated through the tread pattern. In fact, its features clearly show the image of an Angel to inspire confidence and safety to the rider in any kind of riding conditions: during long journeys as in everyday riding.
But after approximately 1000 kilometers (600 miles), the initial angelic image passes - unveiling the icon of a Demon, with its distinctive tail and the other unique features."

What the....... when has it become necessary to see a design in the tire? "Marketing, you gota love the hype".

They have a tough job in front of them if they think they'll win over the Corsa lovers.. as long as they keep making their Corsa, no problem. Very interesting idea thou..

well.. i'm definitely getting a pair of Angels for my VFR. Now we just have to wait... And in July I'm going with my girlfriend on a tour from Slovenia to Sweden (about 5-6000km total). And I'll be reporting about the tyre abilities. Especially because about 40-60% of the trip could be rain.

I'll be posting as soon as they appear on the market. And you should too...
