When I got my VF750F I could hear the fuel pump "prime" the carbs. I had to replace the starter relay switch (connected to the battery not the button). Since then I don't hear the fuel pump prime. Does this have to do with a failing fuel pump? bad fuel relay?
I don't know if these are related. I recently rode 17 miles on the freeway and my engine started to bog down, so I down shifted and still the RPMs dropped, when I pulled over the engine died. I couldn't start it. I had to "jump" the fuel pump, then the bike started right up. Is the fuel pump not delivering enough fuel?

I have the tank sitting in vinegar over night. I had two new inline fuel filters installed. I had put two new inline fuel filters on recently, the first one was filled with flakes of rust, the second looked like mud. I am pretty sure that was the cause of my issue.

Does anyone know with first generation VF750F if you can line the tank? Since the petcock installed in the tank itself.

You can take the petcock off the tank. Take the allen bolt out of the knob. The petcock is underneath screwed on. You'll see. Then plug the holes and coat away.

I have done that before. Okay then I will line the tank thank you. for some reason I thought there were tubes inside the tank connected to those holes.

check the electrical pump contact under the black cap. Sometimes it works bad because of dirt.
Check also the correct diameter of fuel lines, sometimes a little difference is the origin of a lower fuel inlet to the pump.
    Ciao.
    Carmine.
