Parry Sound sportbike rally

Anyone going to Parry Sound Ontario for the sportbike Rally? I've never been but it sounds like a good time. July3,4,5 2009.

 

I've never attended either but I think I now have something to do that long weekend. It's only 150 km's from my house! Great way to spend my birthday! :biggrin:

That would be a nice day's ride for me, up through the U.P., across to Canada at Sault Ste. Marie, and down around Georgian Bay. I'll bet there's good camping nearby.

 

That would be one hell of a day's ride. You can count on at least 7 hours from Sault Ste. Marie to Parry Sound. And because it's a long weekend, the roads will be full of idiot cagers, so I'd even tack on another hour or so for traffic and breaks.

But either way, that would be one awesome ride! :thumbsup:

And yes. There is lots of camping in the area.

 

The map shows about 450 miles from my house to Parry Sound; doesn't seem out of line for a good day's riding. Might be worth taking an extra day and camping in one of those provincial parks along the north edge of the Bay, though.

 

One of my good buds was there a few years ago and had a blast! True enthusiasts! Too bad it lands on the 4th................( otherwise, I'd go! ) :canada:

 

Don't let July 4th stop you. You can come up here and celebrate our country's birthday on the 1st and you can celebrate your country's birthday on the 4th with your northern neighbours.

 

Seems like we're thinking alike. I just looked at Google maps and I'm 436 miles away. I'd have to come up thru Buffalo though.(ick) Found the web site. Looks like a good weekend.

I'll likely be booking a room at the Whitfield Inn, nice place on lake Oastler, got a big fire pit , decent, inexpensive rooms, and great folks.

 

I attended a couple years. Lots of good times. You should go if you have any interest. I'm sure you will enjoy it. I lost interest after no one else I knew wanting to attend and tickets enjoying the local roads a little more then the OPP allowed. Plus the to close to the 4th of July. We use to take the long way home after the rally going around Georgian Bay via Manitoulin Island

and ride nice roads/sights on it an staying at least one night at a Inn on the far west end of the island.

I've never been but hey count me in! You always need a 99 5th Gen Yellow VFR there to brighten up the event!

 

i know its a little early but i attended the 08 parry sound bike rally . it was a good ride from north bay ( hour and a bit ) . what is different that year and upcomming years is that it is held by bikers them self not by the city so far less police around . they have a few venders a couple of bike shops bring stuff up and there is a mobile dyno for all the guys who want to see what there bike pull. and he is powercomander certifies if u guys want a custom map and u have a power comander . and the big plus is if u know someone in the muskoka area to guide u threw the roads are sweeet , lots of sweppers and beautyfull sights . lots of fun . there is a group of about 10 from north bay go , i do recomennd if u are not to far away

 

riding up from Windsor, about a six hour hit. Going early to stay at my buddy's cabin on Wolfe Lake by Restoule , visit my deer camp on Sand Lake, then a short jog over friday. Keep in touch here, or call my cell, 519 980 5959.

 

its aways good to meet new riders , i will post a thread when we get closer to the run this way it will be easyer to plan .
also will be hitting the collingwood ride for sight too ! if there is anyone in central ontario should be a good turnout !

 

hey all i know its a little last min but the parry sound sport bike rally in this weekend in parry sound . it would be cool to see a few vfr's there .
unless it rains im going so look for a all black 6th gen with grey hard bags .. the name is Chris :thumbsup:
