Does anyone know a good place to purchase an NEP throttle lock?
    Thanks,
    Tom

Ever consider throttlemeister? I know they cost more but sweet looking and really user friendly.

I got mine online. Forget where, but it was 22.50 with shipping. Worth every penny.
I use it for a few seconds here and there to stretch my wrist, not so much like the cruise control on a car. So for the little that I use it, the throttle meister was just too much.

    OK, my noob question.

How do these work (whether its Throttlemeister or NEP? Is it as simple as clamping it onto the handle bar, and to "activate" it, you simply click it into place so that it holds the throttle in the current position?

Is it necessary to move any things - break lines, etc.?

Thanks. I've never even considered one of these, but as I get older (i.e. fatter), sounds like a nice little addition.

The NEP is a simple plastic clamp that goes between the throttle grip and the switch housing. On the 5th gen there is no modding needed. The 6th gen requires some trimming of plastic from the lock.
To activate it all one needs to do is flip a lever with the thumb. Then flip it down when done. It takes 10 minutes to install.

The throttle meister is a bit more complex, but I don't own one so I will not speak to it.

That plastic lever is the NEP on the right clip on.(the pic is from a fork removal project. it is not necessary to remove the clip on to install the NEP)

Installed a Throttlemeister on my bike in about 93-94. Aerorspace level machining-major parts are stainless steel. Unobtrusive and part of the package includes bar end weight for the left bar. Zero maintenence/zero problems.

I only know about the throttlemeister, takes about 2 minutes to install, unscrew the old end weights, screw in the new ones. They may need adjusting with the supplied spacers but really simple. To operate, twist the weight back with your last two fingers to engage, roll forward or roll throttle forward to disengage. Best part is you can't tell the difference from stock , unless you get the milled or polished S/S version. I've got a set for 6th gen for sale, $75 and I'll ship 'em. They fit stock bars and heli's made after 04.

Thank you for the photo, Drewl, and thanks for the additional info on the throttlemeister, 300.

I might consider your offer for the throttlemeister, but my bike is a 5th generation.

Time to do some research and look at these 2 options in person.

Hey 300shooter! Don't suppose you still have your throttlemeister?
