    Hello All,
I have checked into this site off and on for months and finally decided to join. Just wanted to say I have a 2003 CB919 and 2007 VFR - RWB. I enjoy them and look forward to a warming trend so I can put some miles on them. Stay safe!, JD

Welcome aboard, JD. It looks like NC is gathering a crowd of VFR owners. You guys need to get together for a group ride this spring.

leanit - I love the white rims on your RWB. I plan to do mine next winter when I do a tire change. Welcome to the forum.

    Welcome!

Where are you in NC? My brother lives out west of Asheville, near Bryson City, and about 25 minutes from Deals Gap. I ride out there for a week every other year or so.

    Regards,
    H.C.D.

I live near Greensboro. My wife and I were looking at taking a few days in May to check out the Dragon. We are thinking about going during the week because I've been told the weekends have turned into parking lot crawls.

Yeah, weekends are always crowded on the tail. Last time I was out there on my bike was the summer before last, and weekdays were packed, too. Frustrating. However, I left at daylight on my way home, and when I got to Deals Gap the road was bone dry which is rare that early in the morning, and there wasn't a car or bike in sight. I think I saw one other bike during the whole run. I rubbed a bunch of metal off my footpegs on that one!

I actually prefer the Cherohala Skyway to The Dragons Tail. Its much longer, more remote, not nearly as crowded, and has a good mix of tight twisty sections, long sweepers, and some good straightaways with awesome views. It does get up pretty high, though, so bring your rain gear and an extra sweater if you ride it.

    Regards,
    H.C.D.
