Hey all, I ordered something from Ron Ayers (radiator hose) last Thursday. There standard shipping costs 9 bucks and can take up to six days to get? WTH? Anyway, what I wanted to know is from those of you who have ordered from Ron Ayers is: Is the six day delivery thing a worst case scenerio? Or did it really take that long. 9 bucks, six days? Doesn't seem right. Thanks! BZ
Yeah there are a little slow to get things out. I'm on the left coast so I excpected it, Would of thought you'd get yours quicker. Took me six day days not including weekends to get a rotor from them. But other than that they are great, had a mispackaged part called them and had a ups return lable in 10 minutes. Dennis Kirk seems to have a lot faster service and more parts for my old bike than I would of thought. Might give them try next time.
$9.00 is the minimum shipping cost for Ron Ayers and Service Honda. They don't physically stock any Honda parts. You place an order, they forward the order to the Honda Parts Warehouse facility, the warehouse facility ships the parts to them, they ship the parts to you. The lag time is that the parts aren't drop shipped to you straight from the warehouse. It takes my local dealers 3-4 days to get parts from Honda. I typically get the parts within 7 days from Service Honda. It is worth the wait in my opinion, I recently placed a large order with Service Honda and they were over $100.00 cheaper than any local Honda dealership in my area. I also like the fact that I can use the Service Honda parts fiche, place an order 24/7 and know that I am getting exactly what I need. Bike Bandit isn't any cheaper than my local dealers, plus you have to pay for shipping. Relax, BZ.....It's all good Bro!
I have had good luck with Ron Ayers. I redid my old 4th gen mostly with a ton of parts from them. No real complaints. What I started doing a while back is - I know my local honda parts counter guy somewhat and I take a print out of the RonAyers price and part that I want. Typically he will match it and go ahead and order for me. Very cool - no shipping cost then. If you know your local dealer guy enuff, you might try that. MD
their shipping is OUTRAGEOUS, but it's usually the only place for parts for our antiques... I paid $7.00 in shipping for a set of stickers for the tank. They came in a regular envelope USPS with a 39 cent stamp on them - $6! indeed. Charging you to put your stickers in said envelope. sucks dont it We ship a lot of stuff at work and when gas went crazy everyone fed=x,ups etc raised their shipping, but of course never dropped them when it went back down.
Their shipping always seemed slow to me. I go through Bike Bandit or PowerSportsPro now, shipping seems to be quicker.

I usuallly use Dave Lusk at Mosites Motorsports. He always is cheaper than Service Honda and Ron Ayers. Easy to deal with and I get my parts within 5 days. Shipping is usually $7. He can be reached at dave AT mositesmotorsports.com or 866 283 1147.
+1 I tell him Im with the VFRD site (because I am) and he gives 10% over cost and usually free shipping on larger orders. That reminds me I have to go make a list of parts to order...
Try Honda Direct Line. They are responsive but you'll need to call them. Their web-site leaves something to be desired. Vince
