    Hi all.

Not a new rider but new to sportbikes in general and my relationship with the otot sitting in my living room has yet to be consummated.

I decided my next bike would be a VFR a few months ago. I found almost none that were less than hundreds of miles away, then poof, I lucked out. Original owner 11ooo miles, 50 miles away, 5th gen....And you wouldn't believe me if I told you what I got her for....Bone stock though.

I Have a few questions I will probably start a thread for.

In the meantime here's a pic.

That is one sexy babe. Sittin there in your living room with her rear seat cowl off and her grab handles on. Like she's ready to go to "work" if you know what I mean. Nudge nudge, wink wink. She's a go-er, is she?

    Welcome aboard, beefy.

    for Toecutter and Der Stuka:
I'm in crummy Akron Ohio, so no ride home on the bike. I ending up trucking it home in a pretty decent snowstorm....Took an hour to get the salt off!

4-6 more weeks of grab-handling 'er

    thx for the reception all

Welcome to the boards! Great bike choice.....I'm sure its killing you to not be able to ride her but it will be worth the wait. What other bikes have you owned and what attracted you to the VFR other than the great price you paid?

    Regards,
    Rollin

my first bike was an 83 Nighthawk 650 (very fun ride)
then an HD sportster 1200, which I still have.
probably about 12k miles between the two. Not a ton of experience, but I am especially awesome. :ninja:

The Vif was so appealing to me 'coz of it's balance. After riding my Sporty for a year, I was craving more speed turn and stop.
I don't want a snorting twitching track bike, but I don't want a lawnmower either.
Cruiser ergos kill my back and sacs.

A compromise between gonzo performance and all around comfort and utility is what I was searching for.

You've made a sound decision purchasing the Viffer. Put an aftermarket seat on her if she doesn't have one already and you'll be a happy man for years to come. Do you have any plans for modding her??

You owned an 83 Knighthawk and a VFR??? Talk about the American dream. I would sell the sportster and pick up another knighthawk. (I currently have a knighthawk and VFR). Can't wait for the Ohio weather to turn so I can get the bikes out to play. They don't like to be penned up in the garage for very long.........

Funny you should ask...I'm broker than a blind man in a poker game. I need a car too (just goes to show priorities, eh?). If that weren't the case I probably get the Sarge and maybe Helis. I haven't ridden it thought so I don't know what I need or want.

I think I might do up some sort of heel rests though. Nighthawks and Magnas (i think)had a nice little place to set your heels that was part of the footpeg setup. I was fond of that on my nitey.

Yeah, seriously...too bad it has to imported from Nippon.
That bike was a real sweatheart though, and fast! I wish I still had it... Different gauges, headlight, turn signals, and mirrors, it would look awesome.

    Thanks for all the interest.
