Hi VFRW Admins, Not that you asked, but I thought I would throw out my $0.02. I would like to see a Racing Forum(s) added to VFRW. This would allow any racing discussions to be isolated to the Racing Forum rather than the current "Anything Goes" forum. I was thinking you could have a general forum called Racing with 3 "sub forums" for MotoGP, WSBK and AMA racing. I think that would cover almost all motorcycle racing to be discussed here. Thanks for listening....well reading.
Well, it's there now. :first: I'm not sure if "someone" added over night or I just COMPLETELY missed it before. :loco: To many drugs I guess. I mean medications!
Well it's good to see another die hard race fan, there is a little used racing forum on this site already, the only stipulation is you can't be a Pedrosa fan :heh: Racing & Track Days - VFRworld
Hey R.W., Ya, I saw the forum this morning. I feel like a dolt requesting the forum that was already there! :loco: Yes, I am a huge race fan and I'm NOT a Pedrosa fan. Did you see the latest on the little piss-ant?....he left Sepang test early because he hurt his knee. Pedrosa Cuts Test Short
Yeah, there is one already. Even a newb like me noticed it there! Racing & Track Days - VFRworld
we have tried to trim it down to just the forums that get used and since the racing and track days forum received so little use we didn't subdivide it more. the anything goes forum was put in because there just seemed to crop up all those little things that didn't fit anywhere else. truth be told, if we could pare it down more so that the site was even faster and easier to navigate we probably would. those of us in admin here, like things quick and easy when it comes to the internet, but we dont like to give up features if we don't have to. right now we think we have a pretty good mix but we are always open to suggestion. thanks for offerring your input and feel free to do so anytime you feel the need.
Norcal, are you doubting the wise knowledge and wholesome goodness of the VFRW membership? How rude.
I'm in the "know little about it" cadre, but a racing forum would be a good place to learn something it.
It's pretty self explanatory when the racing forum had to be switched to an anything goes forum because nobody would even post responses to threads concerning racing. Where have all you well informed "fans" been hidin' up until now?
I guess I wasn't here when all that went on. I'm am a die hard racer from way back. with sayings (and mentality ) like "Dirt is for potatoes and asphalt is for racing" . But I have some interests in the dirt like Baja or World Ralley racing would be neat. I roadraced for 12 yrs. The last 8 of those were endurance road racing motorcycles. Our big race was the "24Hrs of Nelson Ledges". I've raced 8 of those with 1 class (600) win, a 2nd & 3rd. Had several 12hr races and a few 4 & 6 hr sprints. Many 30 lap sprint races to hone the endurance bike and self for the 24. Was in several mc mags. Seeing Motorcyclist Mag came out from CA several times to try and win that class. They never did. I believe it's the Dec 1980 copy of MC that did a great story about the 24. (which I have if you want a copy) Each rider(editor) wrote about their ride in the 19 1/2 hr race that year. Monsoons red flagged that race twice. That's the year we won. That's were I really learned to ride. There have been a few times I wanted to comment on riding style that people ask about here. My typing skills and trying to get my thoughts thru the key board have stopped me. May be I'll try harder next time. All you have to remeber though is: "shiney side up" then no problems
your information is not entirely accurate. it was more like what I stated above. we were just trying to trim down the number of categories we have. we have always had at least one racing area, it just doesn't get as much use as a more generic category like anything goes where one might post up whatever. Another thing that makes the anything goes so popular is that since it is easy to find and there are frequent posts there, it pops up in the recent threads more often making it get even more hits.
