Have you any of you seen bikes like this one before?

I first saw it on YouTube after browsing Thurn Motorsports website(out of Germany) for their exhausts. I was looking for sound clips of the brand called IXIL. Anyway, the exhaust I could care less about but the cheesy carbon fiber look on the rear wheel intrigued me as to how he did it, then I noticed it looked like the entire bike was done like this. I emailed the owner and he sent these pictures to me. It actually looks pretty neat. It's definitely not carbon fiber, but I think it does look pretty neat...not to mention it's a super clean bike as well....

Here's the YouTube video with pics and exhaust clip video: LINK.

Oh, and here is a website LINK for the "decor" on his bike he said...it's all in German so have at it if you want.

I wander how his paint guy did that.... Looks like a very time consuming job. My guess is he could have got real carbonfiber for close to the same price as the paintwork. I do like it though.

From what I was reading with my limited German skills, it looks like it's a shrink wrap application....Looks EXACTLY like the stuff on my "carbon look" mirrors. Check out my gallery for pic of them. I'm not 100% positive but that's what it looks like to me...just like those little shrink wrap label for eater eggs lol...submerse them in water and oila! INSTANT GRAPHICS

Does anyone know where to find the carbon fiber wrap? I would definitely be interested in trying this stuff out if its not a million dollars a foot!

Does it come in red? If not, what's the point? No sense slowing the bike way down by wrapping it in black.

I really like the Chevy Vortec engine cover with the carbon base and liquid or electric overlay.

    but why??

don't get me wrong, love carbon fiber, super strong (in some ways), super light

have bits of carbon fiber on my bike

but I don't get having the fake stuff, now this wrapped bike looks good from a certain distance, but any further and you can't tell anything is different, and any closer and you can tell it is fake, so you end up looking like just a poser

so you end up spending money, and probly not a small amount, too look like you are lightening your bike, when in actuality you are making it slightly heavier??

you are spending money to just to look like you are reaping benefits that you aren't actually reaping? I don't get it. Like that NR750 copy someone posted a while back... It is pretend.

lol, dude it's totally for visual effect. who in their right mind would want to spend money on carbon fiber parts for a vfr?(no use on that pig -I'm baffled that anyone would be concerned about weight savings on a sport-touring bike lol)

It's no different than a paint job or vinyl graphics on cars, clearly just for looks. The point is that his bike was different and caught my attention and that "carbon fiber" isn't the only available finish pattern if you'd care to look at any of the websites posted.

One last thing...why are you so concerned about how you look on your motorcycle or how your motorcycle looks to other people? lol...starting to sound like those HD fanboys and squids..."oh man, I'll look badass if I have all race parts even though I don't have a use for them in my riding style" or "chrome is for hard asses"

Points for doing something well and not normal. Not a fan of the scheme.
The dipping deal would be sweet for multiple plastic sets.
You could have a different bike each day of the week.
