That is just a stupid statement sorry folks but think about that.. does he/she know must guys on the forum?? and really out ride most of you? and the best part is she does it on a cb400f and cb550f lol !!!:bs: top speed these bikes what 120? drum brakes spoke wheels. omg give me a break my side hurts..i mean the viffer does about 150 and handles like a dream with great brakes!! the 86 750 model won a 24 hour endurance race.. dam( yugo vs vette )we want a tour bike that s a sport machine? wtf goldwing meets cbr lol..5'2 only a cruiser sits that low. maybe a pocket bike would work with saddle bags..or better yet build her own i mean best mechanic too..stuff a busa motor in a pocket bike frame and put a trailer on back 4 the luguage..(600 slow?) Thanks though for saveing me the money for riding lessons always up for a track school. can you get enough saved so freddy or kevin can show me how to ride?/ maybe then i could keep the cb400 in site before the luguage falls off..ok love is blind i understand, but come on; am I the only one the picked up pure ignorance, arrogance, and stupidity in the same paragraph?? good luck hope you find the perfect bike..

I can imagine that slowly and out loud is the only way that you can read.

Deepdish, Not only are you not helping me with my questions, you also are making your self look like a complete fucking tool. I am inquiring of others about their experiences with more modern bikes. This forum is a resource for me to do this since there are people here that know more than I do about this particular niche in the bike world. It is also a good resource for the "once in a while" douche bag, such as yourself, to entertain the masses by being such a complete dick. As far as ignorance, arrogance, and stupidity goes, I'll admit to a certain lack of knowledge. Call it what you will, though, the arrogance award goes to you.
Oh, by the way, most of the guys on this forum can out ride you because....:yousuck:
Go eat a bag of dicks......

Seidts- My Wife is 5'1" and 125#. She has a BMW F800ST outfitted with Givi V-35s. It is a low model from the factory. The dealer did not lay a wrench on it to lower it in any way. She gets the balls of her feet down easily. The bike is roughly 415-ish with out luggage. The light weight more that makes up for it being an inch taller than her Harley. She had been looking for a sport tourer for a while and couldn't find one to suit her. Then we walked into the Beemer dealer last winter.... Great tourer. Nice torque for a little bike and it will hang with my VFR. I took it on a 1,300 mile mini-tour from NC to PA and had a blast. Loaded it down like a pack mule with camping gear and went about the country side abusing the speed limit and averaged 59mpg for the entire trip. Two down sides. 1. The front end is a bit soft. 2. It has a BMW price tag, but it was the only sport tourer that was low enough from the factory. At some point she made the decision to buy what ever suited her and price would not be a determining factor. She loves the bike. It suits her riding style. It is easy for her to ride and for me to maintain.

This killed me! I was thinking the same thing when I hear people brag about someone being faster than everyone else without having even met or ridden in person.

Good one deepdish! Get her a turbo-charged busa with nitrous, or sign her up for MotoGP on valentino's team! We're not worthy!

If you have ever seen her ride, you would realize that she, indeed, can ride very well. What I was trying to establish is that she can ride well enough to not go the route of a ninja 250 or other "beginner" bike.
I'll ask nicely, once, for you to lay off Helen Keller or her sister. She, at least, understood punctuation, grammar, and spelling.
What is your problem with a woman who can ride? Do you think it is not possible? Are you one of those guys that like to keep them barefoot and knocked-up? Are you afraid of the possibility that, perhaps, a woman might best you? Considering where you are from and judging by your issues here, I can only think that you a stereo-typical, mouth breathing, sexist, redneck. I am not saying that you are, it's just that I am beginning to believe as such. I stand by my last farewell wish for you. Start chewing, grasshopper.

I agree with you. I apologize to the other forum members for any impropriety. I am just a bit intolerant of morons and I tend to get going; like a Busa motor in a pitbike!

Dude, you need to calm down. The OP has made some broad generalizations, especially about his broad....Anyway, I'm not sure why anyone would get upset over someone on a forum saying his girl can outride people, that's as rediculous as feeling the need to say she can. I would settle for "she has a lot of experience and rides a motorcycle very well and with much skill" I believe that's what he meant. Also, no matter who you are, there is always someone out there who can outride you, and usually there is always someone you can outride so the whole argument is dumb as far as I'm concerned.

I sort of got a bit sideways when it was stated in the beginning no nakeds, and then people are mentioning a Ducati Monster, or a 919- both of those are pretty naked. I mean what, the Triumph Street Triple didn't want any of that? (great bike by the way)

Any modern 600cc is not going to have any trouble hanging with a VFR, and honestly, motorcycles these days are so friggin fast how much is really used? 50% of it's capability? You can't ride any motorcycle anywhere near the edge of it's limits on the street leagally.

The Bimmer looks like a great bike, especially for the touring side of what was recommended. I can also say the Suzuki's (GSX650, SV 650s) are also very good. My first bike was a GS500, and while not remotely as quick as my VFR (48hp FTL) was perfect to learn on, and had a quite low seat height. Of course none of that matters because she is experienced and wants around 100hp from the sound of it. I think trying to do any touring on a CBR 600rr, GSXR 600/750, etc. would suck- pretty extreme riding position, and really no way to 'bag up. I would recommend a good look at the Yamaha fz6, though it is a half naked, so that's some thing to consider. I can't comment on the height though as I'm 5'9" which is the definition of average height so everything feels fine height wise (except the BMW GS1100 I hopped on, that thing is friggin TALL!)

Anyway, you guys can truce the flame war because it really is a non issue and the longer it goes on the dumber everyone is for having to read it.

Also, there is something to be said for the fun of riding a slow bike fast instead of having to ride your fast bike slow all the time....

A good friend of mine is doing the same thing you plan on doing. She has an SV650, but is wanting a sportier bike BADLY. She is about 5'4" and about 140 and has settled on either the Triumph Daytona 675 or the Ducati 848. She can flatfoot both bikes, and they also offer lowering kits for them as well. Superbike magazine did a test with the Ducati 848, Triumph 675, CBR600RR and the GSX-R 750. There is a small article on their website now and the full thing will be in the next issue. I'd suggest taking a look at it, it might help a bit.

I've been trying for years to con my Dad out of his 1974 CB550F. I learned to ride on that bike & it has tremendous emotional/sentimental value to me. It hasn't moved or run for over 10 years. I want to restore it to it original Sunrise Orange glory.

For anyone baggging on vintage Honda iron, don't knock it till you've tried it.

I AGAIN second KC, this time about the old Honda I4s. My Yellow 400 4 Super Sport had full Yosh internals and being how I don't weigh 'much I surprised a 600 or two until I sold it to buy a house. I shoulda borrowed da money from me sister...(and kept the bike-I REALLY wish i still had it.)

I bought a Cb400F that came out of somebody's garage and had been sitting a long time, complete with ape hangers and that whole get up. Comparing that to the other Cb400f in the garage, it has the more responsive engine. The motor seems like it might have something inside but I don't know. It like to rev really high. Whatever it is, it is different than the other one. Someday I'll take it apart but, until then I'll be flogging the ever-loving tar out of it on those fun rides.

Hey KC, We are selling an Orange '76F. It's not a jewelry box but it is relatively clean. Since you have such a connection with said model, I thought I'd offer.

I want to 2nd the 600F4i possibility. There are lots of lowering kits and they pull hard and handle well with 108 Hp or something like that.

The monster idea is certainly cool if you dont mind the nakeds. I think you said no nakeds though...

I am on the other side of the spectrum, I am 6'3" and find myself positively CRAMPED on most sportbikes. Good luck with your search!
