Been ridin the bike to work fo years, parking on the street. It's a part residential and part industrial neighborhood. I'm pretty conciencious of leaving plenty of room around my bike, not just tuckin it right in there in between parked cars. When I was leavin and walkin up I noticed that the bike wasn't at the same angle to the curb that I left it at. I could see that the left mirror was bent in,I'm thinkin What the F, get a little closer see the clutch lever bananna'd, there are stress cracks and scratches in all the left side body work pieces, the kickstand is bent! Judging from the 8" groove in the pavement and bent kickstand it appeared my baby was pushed aways before she gave in. No note, but they picked her up and left.
So I'm gonna start taking a picture of the license plate of the car in front of and in back of me liscense plate with my cell phone, just to have somethin.
I can't afford to replace the plastic so I've slowly been workin on patchin up cracks. Wonderin anybody know anything bout fixin some sratches?

This exact thing happened to my CBR600 F4i in 2006 while I was in Berkeley, CA getting a haircut. Did about $1500 damage. The driver of the car in front of my bike backed into it, knocked over, broke off the mirror, stood the bike back up, and then left the mirror up on the triples as a little gift.

I'm guessing that you don't have comprehensive insurance coverage? Sorry about your bike, man. It never ceases to amaze me how so many people out there genuinely just don't give a shit anymore about anything and clearly demonstrate such disregard for other people's property.

As for repairing scratches and/or painting, I gave the ColorRite approach a shot on one of my fairings, only to be terribly disappointed with the result. In the end, I just had to replace the fairing. However, there are some people here on VFRW that can probably steer you in the right direction. Keep up the search.

Sorry to hear about your bike. It seems that hit & runs were very rare in the past. Now they are a very common occurrence, especially in So. Cal. Unfortunately we have many people running around with no license, & no insurance; so when an accident happens they just take off & we are left with the problem. I am very surprised they even took the time to raise your bike. A painter on L.A. craigslist has some scratched but not broken VFR fairings, check him out. Good luck.

Sorry about your bike bro, it amazes me how people can just leave like that. Ask around, maybe someone saw something. Hope you get her back the way she was and hopefully karma will catch up to that a-hole.
