Friendly fire does happen. It is the shits, but it happens. The US is not wothout its own errors here. Just ask the families of the Canadian groud troops who were mistakenly fired upon by an American Avaitor in Afganistan a few years back while they were completing night time training exercises that was well known amoungst the allied forces there. It really sucked. We lost somewhere around 5 or 6 if I am not mistaken due to this friendly fire. It sucks but it happens.

We in the west seem to be the only people as a group who want to stand up for the little guy. Not that the little guy should be defended when he is wrong. Canada is a small nation. Our population is about the same of less than the State of Clifornia. So far we have lost 106 precious lives over in Afganistan. That is a horrendous number for a nation of our size. These men and women are not over there for the glory of Canada. If that way of thinking exsists in Canada, it is miniscule. We are over there to try to help make things better for the little person.

I am not a religious person. So I don't care that the conbatants are Jews, Muslims, Christians, Buddist or what ever. Isreal has the right to defend itself much like the US. They should ise "almost" any tool at their disposale to defend itself. They will take the fight beyond their borders much like the US. My God will look over them. And my God is looking after the families of the Canadians lost away from thier home.

Funny you should mention Sth Africa.

A close work collegue, ex UK Royal marine ultra cross country marathon fitness Guru went for a Christmas holiday to his wifes homeland in Sth Africa.

In Sth Africa on a 5 day wilderness hike he was attacked and knocked down by a crazed bull elephant, recovering at his inlaws they got hit by a gang in a home invasion with a gun shoved in his face surviving that he was a passenger in a car that was slammed in the side by a bus and ended with a smashed hip socket and cracked pelvis.

Then again he had been enjoying the treck immensely right up to the elephant incident so guess he was just unlucky.

 

that's one accusation i really need not answer since i've been JEWISH all my life !!!!!!!!

I'm impressed with the Israelis' accuracy. Three carefully selected targets, three accurate direct hits. That's batting 1000. Good job. Keep it up.

 

I dunno, they developed and sell the Joint Helmet Mounted Cueing Sytem that is installed most of the top of the line fighters we have today. It's pretty cool that you only have to turn your head to get a missle lock on your bogey, even if he's over your shoulder- eat your heart out "Maverick".

 

I really think what Squirrelman is trying to say here is that if he were to have his neighbors throw hand grenades at him on a daily basis after the police tell the neighbors to stop, he would simply do nothing. If that is the he feels about it, let him! Hell, I think he should go over there and show Israel how it's done! I'm sure Hamas will make sure they don't fire their rockets at him for being a good Jew.

 

I have avoided this post like the plague. I would have much rather seen folks go after the Loose Change video thread. That would have been more fun and perhaps even productive. The people here that really made an impression on me have been Squirrel, Faith7, and Stewie.

All of those "religious" books were, in fact, written as powerful tools in order to gain control of people and societies. It worked well and now here we are. War. It keeps building strong economies for the rich people while dirt poor mother f***ers fight.

I couldn't agree more. I'm all for an intelligent discussion based on facts but I'm starting to get a weird Ted Kacynski kind of vibe when I read any squirrel post (admittedly, that's very infrequent since I’d rather read about motorcycles on a motorcycle forum).

independant of any facts this thread does or does not present, I don't think it is easy to live next to your neighbors when the head of their household says their life goal is to get you to move out of the house next to them.
