Gentlemen, herein is the official thread for bashing that abomination that Honda calls the DN01

Yesterday, I attended a bike show along with BP and his wife, also there were Hotbrakes and Titanium, where we saw this........thing......in person

While there BP noted that it seemed to attract a lot of older women of alternative sexuality, and upon hearing this Norcalboy dubbed it the Honda Hymen

Hotbrakes in a kind moment noted that the engine out of it could possibly be used to create a motorcycle

Titanium stood there shaking his head, apparently too stunned or saddened to say anything

I thought that the Honda booth could create extra income during the show tour by charging folks 10 bucks to beat it with a sledgehammer.

Most of you know what it looks like, so I wont post a pic, cause it makes my head swim

    Your thoughts, fellow VFR riders?

I think it is an interesting niche product.... I use the word interesting loosely ;)

It would make sense that women of alternate sexuality would find the bike interesting because I don't see how any red blooded man can fall for the DN01 ??? Especially men who yearn for a motorcycle with VFR DNA. I just don't see it.

Ick. But then I don't like the style of the very popular cruiser bikes either. And, I might add, not very keen on the angular lines of most of the modern sport bikes.

I didn't see anything that appealed to me at all, which means it probably will be very popular. :)

Ah shit! If I wanted a proper scooter I'd buy one for less than half of what they charge for that abortion, the DN01!

Good Point FJ .... when compared to cruisers I gotta say I prefer the look of the DN01 over a Honda-Davidson any day.

    LMAO!!

I was at a bike show, and decided to TRY to understand this contraceptive. I sat on it, and the seating is just way off. It leans you back like a chopper, but your feet are positioned like a GoldWing's. There's a good chance that if you ride the thing uphill, you will fall off, and its automatic transmission will continue it on without you.

I honestly, genuinely could not find anything to like about it. There were two guys making fun of it, but I was the only person who even bothered to sit on it. No one else paid it any attention. I returned to the honda section twice (ohhh that VFR), and it was still by itself, unheeded.

I had to stand in line to look over the GLs and the ST. The VFR got a lot of looks as well. The black/white Viffer was just so damn sexy.

Hang on...we were talking about the Hybrid Thingy. It's Honda's practical joke on us. Instead of a larger V4/V5, we get this practical joke. Were it not for the quality of their bikes, I would go to their Canadian HQ and take a leak on their front door. Whatever. I have a weird sense of humor, just as Honda does. I only hope for their sake that they don't go the Chrysler way and overproduce on that contraption, because I cannot see them being able to sell it.

I too had the displeasure of viewing that motorthing at the IMS. The nausea subsided after a couple of days, and I've pretty much blocked the visual memory. That said, they will sell a few to people who think they want to be motorcyclists. Then, hopefully, it will go away.

If it was manual and v4 I'd buy it. It's a good looking bike, reminds me of the movie "Akira."

I wouldn't buy it but I sure would like to test ride it. I'll ride anything with two wheels at least once. At the West coast show rode a Harley Nightster low(along with a bunch of other models), sure I looked like a giant on it but I got to beat up on a bike that wasn't mine and pissed off the guys test riding the KTM RC8 when I blew buy them in the twisty section scraping a peg:cheersaf:

So it has a smaller engine, less horse power, less fuel capacity, weighs almost 100 more than the VFR?

I guess I am the only one that likes it. For people like my father, who don't want to shift gears, but just wants the bug's on his helmet, he will love it.

Its a Goldwing for people who want people to think they look cool.

    Remember the Fiero? Same concept.
