    Its off!!

One of the rear headers had fused itself to the chamber pretty well and required some serious man handling.

Yes I did realize the swingarm had to come off.

Yes I did remove the bolts under the engine.

I'm going to look for a second hand chamber. Don't like the idea of the other...

This can't be done as the front and rear header act as a "claw" that grips engine.

The only way we managed was to remove the headers from the engine, stand on levers that bent the entrance to the chamber and then twist the headers out.

I've got a complete stock system in the attic. If you are interested, shoot me a PM and I can take a picture of it for you.

Lucas - You had better go this route, I won't sell mine for nearly that cheap. These parts are difficult to come by these days.

What kind of condition is it in? I certainly like the sound of the price! Could you get a shipping quote, or give me the dimensions, weight etc so I can.

    Thanks for your help!

Condition is ok, it's not a show piece, little rusty but no holes or anything.

I'll try and get a pic posted for ya later.

Shipping would probably run $15-20 tops, it's bulky and a little heavy.

I got the bike for parts and made my money back on the motor, the rest is gravy and so I see no need to try to extract money from people. If it helps you get back on the road, it's worth the trouble to me. :cheersaf:

Whoa, just noticed you're in Oz-land, shipping will be higher! But, USPS is pretty reasonable.

    Sebspeed,
I just got an email from a wrecker in Melbourne (about 1000Kms from me) who has a part in stock. I called him up and he quoted $170 (aprox $125 US) delivered. Don't really want to deal with him though, because he ended this conversation with a very arogant and smarmish, "you aren't gunna find another one so don't even bother lookin' ".
    Wanker....

So some pics and a postage quote would be awesome.

    The city address is:

    Orange
    NSW
    2800
    Australia

    Cheers!!!

Yeah, that's a little brash for someone trying to sell you something. In all honesty, he's not really that far off from the truth. Those kind of parts are getting pretty rare. I probably wouldn't sell mine for less than $100. There are some people (cough cough Seb cough) who are so independently wealthy (cough cough Seb cough) that they can give away parts for a fraction of their value. When you find that, snag it and chaulk one up to good fortune!

Wife has a car, but then we have a newborn & its too disruptive to have to bundle her into the car to take me to work. (wife needs car at home..)

Besides that I don't actually have a car license. Been riding on the road for 19 years & this is the first time I've been without a bike...

I used to have ZZR1100 (ZX11) and when I was doing work to it I would ride my CX650E. Have sold the ZZR and gave the CX to my father in law who was without transport or the dollars to buy any..

I did borrow my fathers XLV1000 for a week but he has had to sell it too. Thanks very much global financial cirsis...oh well I'm sure it'll all wash out in the end!

Man, that sure sounds like a situation where I would break out the bottle of JB Weld and smack a patch over that hole in the exhaust! In fact, I'd probably just ride that sucker no matter how loud it was. But I'm just crazy like that.

I did some checking, it looks like it would cost about $90-100US to ship a collector to you. Are you willing to pay that much? I'd think it would be a lot easier, faster, etc. etc. to just get the one from Melbourne. True???
