Hi chaps,I had a vfr 800 fi a few years ago, then woman trouble(bike went).
Now i`m sorted ! so i want a vfr again.
I have been offered a black VFR 800 fi ,7500 miles, year 2000 , 1 owner, not dropped ect, all genuine.
    Is it worth £2600 ?
Also before i spend in a rececion, do i get the old type or the newer v tec type?
I understand new ones have not got so much low down grunt?
Can`t wait to get some grunt back between my legs (i am 50)

Hello and welcome mate. Please do start an intro thread when you are feeling brave.

I am not even gonna answer your question about what is better (VTEC or Non-VTEC) as a flame war :2guns: will start....however, I am assuming you are across the pond in the UK...yes no? That is pretty low miles for a 2000. I bought mine (1998 5th gen) with aftermarket exhaust, and saddlebags/tankbag included for 4600 bucks (US dollars) in Nov 2006. It looks like £2600 PDS = ~$3803 (US dollars)at the current exchange rate.

If the bike is in good condition, and well maintained, then YES, in my opinion it is a good deal.

Welcome aboard! For what it's worth, I would sell mine for that. There are tons of threads about which is better. What it comes down to is which you like best. Both are VFR's so how can you go wrong.

Only 7500 miles!?! If it's as clean as you say it is then hell yeah I'd pay $3800 us dollars for a 2000 vfr. Good luck and welcome aboard!

You cant pass up a 5th gen with only 7500 miles. Even if it was $500 more, it would still be hard to pass up.

Go for the 5th gen. No sweeter sound than gear driven cams IMO.
