I just had noticed recently a few overtly catholic/christian based avatars and thought that a little obnoxious, so I sought to balance that out. So yes it would be a pro evolution/anti creationism statement.

 

No, in fact we discuss politics all the time, although not religion. And when the time comes, I will be happy to discuss politics with my son.

 

I don't know, I like having discussions with people whose views are different than my own. As long as they are reasonable rational discussions. I really believe if we surround ourselves only with people who have the same belief system as our own, we have no hope of learning and growing. Heck, that is part of what a cult does, right? surround you only with people who are true believers, so that you do not get anybody who could introduce a different idea?
I know a lot of people find it strange, but I enjoy a healthy debate now and then.

 

You find someone who expresses their personal beliefs as obnoxious? I think that's obnoxious. There's really no need to denigrate the beliefs of others, just because your beliefs differ. I'm not particulary religious, but I respect those who are. It's a big tent; there is room for everyone.

it is an over simplification, yes there are often nuances to a story that are missed by many, but there are many many times when right and wrong are clear
