Ok! I've been reading alot of threads about the cutting exhaust mod on VFRD and on here also. Seems fairly simple to do, but I have some questions. Would doing this myself affect a dealership visit with the bike?? Is this mod going to have any long term effects on the engine longevity or any other effects that nobody is mentioning?? Is the sound going to piss off my neighbors? I want it to sound good and somewhat loud but not annoying and susceptible to noise violations in California... I've heard all the sound clips online and it's really hard to tell how it's going to sound at high revs... and while actually driving down my street. Basically, I just want to make sure aI cover all my bases before cutting into my factory exhaust cans...

The main reason I went to aftermarket cans is that once you cut up the standard chances are it would be harder to reverse at sale time....

If you get something like Staintunes not only to you save weight you also have the option of easily taking the Spud out for extra v4 music when you want to.

True, but I was more concerned about the long term effects on the bike and the possibility of getting a noise pollution ticket. I plan on keeping this bike for a long time...:vtr2:
