If you want to start a "This is the new VFR" thread it should start with......
What color do you think Honda will paint the 2010 model VFR? Since its probably the only thing they will change.

That has got to be one of the most disgusting examples of a motorcycle that I have ever seen!!!!! What has gotten into all the designers??? The new R-1 looks ugly, but it sounds great, I just wished it looked as good as it sounds. The Kawi looks like crap as well. The only bike that I really like now besides the Duc is the.GSXR. Please don't hate me for saying that, but I'm being honest here. Fortunately I haven't finished upgrading or playing with my VFR, so I don't need a new bike.......yet.......

KC10FE and Knife and other detractors in this thread....

Hmmm...isn't this forum called VFRWorld...doesn't it mean you generate discussion around the VFR....isn't some new information about potential new VFR possibilities really a subject that should discussed in this forum even if it is simply some photochop. Isn't that the purpose of Michael putting all his work into keeping this going and those of us who contributed to help him with that to talk about the VFR and our experiences, motorcycles and such.

If you don't want to participate in the thread, bypass it boys, you don't have to read it. Seriously, if it bothers you that much don't type anything....

Come on guys...you love commenting and providing comments is part of the fun of coming here each day and reading...

So if you want come on over and try to bash my head in be my guest, I'm only across the river in PA....I think since we have the VFR in common we'd probably just end up bullsh!tting about that and possibly even riding....

Sorry for making your day the other day so miserable.

I agree, however that wouldn't deter me from getting one. If I were to start studying for E-7 and I actually made it, I would get a second bike. I am seriously considering getting a GSXR 750, and setting it up exclusively for track duty.

Sometimes I think that Honda leaks these things just to get a reaction. So here is my reaction, don't like it at all. Ergonomics look pretty much sport, so useless for me. Styling looks pretty bland. Don't like these new style exhausts at all. Too boxy. I wouldn't buy one and hell what does it matter because I will believe it when I can take one for a test ride.

Geeze, I was only joshing. Seems to be a lot of kidding around on this forum. I didn't think KC10FE was serious, either, but I'll let him speak for himself if he so chooses. Next time I'll end with a (just kidding!) so I don't inadvertently offend someone, which was never my intent in the first place.

Very true, your Thread Title is clear and in the correct area so would have been easy enough to ignore, I didn't because I'm always interested in VFR news even if bogus so don't stop its all fun and not at all serious. :cheersaf:

A jaded reaction maybe due to built up expectation given Hondas model 4 year cycle history which meant the Gen 6 should have had a total revamp in '06. This board and every other VFR site has been speculating of a new wilder model each year since '05 not just a VTec RPM tickle with clear lenses Honda gave.

Come on guys... It's all good & surely you know I wasn't serious. Right? I mean really, just because I'm from NJ doesn't mean I know Italians that break kneecaps.

Problem is, I'm just tired of Honda letting itself slide into irrelevance. The way it sits right now, Honda has exactly one bike that is anywhere near the head of it's class. That would be the Goldwing which is the best bike in it's class. Every single other bike Honda makes is second fiddle or worse in it's class for whatever reason. The continued "LOOK AT THE NEW VFR!!!!" threads serve no purpose other than to raise hopes just so Corporate Honda can dash those hopes. All I ask is some realistic proof of anything.

    KC-10 FE out...

    VFR RR or VFR ST?

Yesterday I read an article in the British magazine TWO about this concept bike with the prediction of a late '09 or early '10 release. Hopefully they weren't giving in to the trickery us mere mortals have succumbed to.

They also tested a 6th Gen vs. GSXR1000 vs. Triumph Tiger vs. FZ1 for sports touring and basically the VFR whipped the others' asses. So KC-10FE I think it is safe to say the VFR is a class leader amongst middle weight sport tourers.

If the economy improves slightly and my job goes in the direction I'm aiming for I should be in line to go against my rule of not buying brand new bikes and picking one of these beauts up.

Kind of a biased question on this forum but...
Who would like to see this new "VFR" produced as a sport tourer and who would like to see it hatch as it currently appears as a racer?

It would be interesting if Honda did something like BMW with more than one model type using the same engine (with different power characteristics of course). A VFR1000RR and a VFR1000ST...

I don't know what kind of ariticles you're reading...

GSXR1000? I should hope the VFR is a better touring bike than a GSXR1000. A Royal Enfield Bullet is a better touring bike than a GSXR1000.

Triumph Tiger? Yes, I would rather own a VFR for touring compared to a Tiger. When the road turns to less than paved, then the Tiger is the better choice. That is, of course, if you put the tires on it that Triumph should have put on it. The two aren't anywhere close to being a similar bike.

FZ1? This is the only realistic comparison of the four. The differences between the FZ1 & VFR would come down to what an individual rider would want. The V4 is obviously my choice of powerplant, but I damn sure know the VFR is not going to beat a 1000CC I4 in any race. Add the fact the FZ1 is over $1000 cheaper & the choice is absolutely personal preference.

So, what good did this article prove? Not much really.

The VFR is in a class of 2 bikes. The VFR & BMW F800ST. Naturally, the VFR will easily stomp the cramp out of the BMW. Seriously, it doesn't take a PhD in Nuclear Physics to understand the reason the VFR doesn't sell well. The problem lies with marketing. Honda markets the bike in the same manner as the FJ & KawaCon. So, knowing this, the bike is priced too freaking high. It's not a 1000CC yet it costs more than a typical 1000CC. Why Honda does this baffles me. Honda has the nerve to charge for the hard bags. Yamaha & Kawasaki & BMW include the bags with the purchase price. The tooling & plant equipment has long since been paid for. The basic engine structure has been the same for nearly 25 years. The bike comes from the factory on seriously lousy tires. It has bargain basement suspension. It doesn't have or even offer heated grips or any other bells & whistles. Despite this, the price get higher every year. In reality, the VFR should be out the door for $9500.

I like most of us VFR owners are rather particular about what I want in a motorcycle. The new BMW S1000 R really interests me. The Aprilia wouldn't be too bad but I can't stand the uber-short tail section, as my wife does go for the occassional ride with me. I would really like to see the VFR return to it's racing roots. To me it has gotten too overloaded with technology. The same is happening with the new CBR. The brakes are a prime example of ths, I don't want brakes that modulate themselves in a turn, that's my job. Anymore I'm not so committed to brand loyality, if the preferred brand won't make what I want, I'll go else where.

I think the pic in the OP of a potentially new VFR is awful looking. It's similar to the CBR's but with none of the style IMO. Thank god I only just bought my '07 (brand new for $9k) and will have no need for anything else for a very long time!
