well......... that sucks. I actually took it out again last night to make sure I did not screw it up somehow. the Honda filter fit perfectly, the BMC just did not fit in the box right. with all the turns & curves it has to be just right to get into that groove, but it does not.

    thanks guys.

I thought I was loopy, so I tried it the other way. it fits even worse upside down. LOL.

its REALLY close along most of the edges of it, but there are 2 spots where it just does not sit down into the groove correctly.

I got it to fit, but I had to start @ the front & screw it down & then continue to move backwards & push & shake & pull on the lid to get it all to sit together & get the screws in to hold it.

is the 4th gen filter REAL close to the 5th?? the box has the right years on it, but that does not mean that its the right filter in the box.

    thanks

You shouldn't be having this level of trouble to get the filter and lid to sit correctly in the sealing groove. There is obviously something wrong with the moulding that holds the filter element. I would contact the folks you bought the filter from and explain the problem you are having. They need to send you a new filter, something is wrong with the one you have and it should be a simple drop in.
