I never liked the NR looks much BUT because they are so rare, I'd be proud to own such a valuable bike. As for the knock off, guess it would be a great conversation starter if nothing else. I like Bubba's idea of using it as a track bike.

I'm guessing there are about 20 people watching this auction....and every one of them are VFRW members.

I was just thinking the same thing rev:cheersaf:

Its not that BAD, and at the right price it would make a fun track bike.

Do the windscreen and taillight really cost $3000 together. IF so that's f'n rediculous. I don't see the problem with the front end though. If it works and makes its handling more responsive....what's the problem.

I imagine with the rarity of those bikes, the parts are nearing Unobtanium status. Besides, you see people paying ridiculous amounts of money for things everyday on ebay.

I'd own it, i think it's cool; only a true bike aficionado would know it's a fake.

I gotta admit, I like it. Very few other riders really even know what my VFR is, since it's a full fairing bike that isn't a CBR/GSX-R/YZF/ZX. I like the look of the NR750.

Oh, and since people mentioned it, a VFR streetfighter? I didn't see this, anyone got a link? I ride a 6th gen VFR now, and a FZ6 streetfighter, have thought about making my next bike a 5th gen VFR streetfighter. To me, it just makes sense as an around town scoot.

I don't care if only one in 10,000 riders knew it was a fake, I would know. That is really all that matters in the end.
Why would you want to own a fake, it has none of what makes the NR an NR, which is the incredible engineering feats that went into it.

Many years ago I saw a real NR for sale in CO, asking price was $120k.

    err, no...

The titanium coated screen did indeed cost in the region of £1000...don't know about the taillight.

Remember the NR was £38000 new.

    My opinion.....
If this guy sold this bodywork as a kit, you'd see a lot more NR knock-offs around.
I think it's pretty cool and the execution is excellent to meet the dimensions of the starter bike. I love the look of the NR. Dude is talented with body work and falls in love with a bike he can't obtain, then decides to make his own. I respect that.

FWIW,I think the bike looks pretty faithful to the origional....well done!

I think he had put a lot of time and energy into something that was truly imho one of the greatest looking bikes of all time. Good on him, as someone already said, he loved a bike he could not obtain and did an INCREDIBLE job with the glass.

I answered why I wouldn't want to own a fake, but not why others would.
