When I got out of work today, about a block down the street I hit a patch of ice. Even though I was going slow, straight and wasn't speeding up I went down

I broke the cover on the side and all of the oil drained out. Put a HUGE, well, not a dent, half of the tank is bashed in. I just bought the dang tank. That was a wasted 125 dollars. As well as other scrapes and bent up stuff. oh, and I got a scrape or two

Just when I get the thing running again.
I guess I got all winter to fix it now after I tow it home.

This town gets paid to put ice on the streets. Why wont they freaking do it.

No more winter driving for me

oh, I forgot to mention. Someone almost hit me sliding on the ice after I fell. Someone almost hit anther car on the ice while getting my bike off the road. Someone almost hit my wife while going off the road while my wife was coming to get me. And we passed an accident on the way home.

Next week she will no longer be working 2nd shift and we can drop each other off at work.

Man that really sucks, at least you are ok though. I worry sometimes about my fiance riding in the winter - many times he has left here with the roads being ok only to run into ice closer to work. I'd hate to think the replacement cost for some of the parts for his Buell. *cringe*

Sorry to here of your mishap. I am really glad to hear you are okay though, it sounds like you are lucky no one slid into you after the fact!

There has been talk on other post of conspiracy theories of slick 50 being put on the roads by the government to increase fuel milage (tiger tiger) although I don't know how true this is...
