Anyone ever put in 4 quarts of slick 50, dura lube etc.. Instead of oil?? I was curious on what the outcome of that would be or would it actually rune the engine???Ohh yeah I am to scared to do it to mine but was always wondering how that would work. more power/less friction so on and so forth..

That'd be real good for the clutch and gearbox.

I do not know what it is, however if it is what i am thinking, and oil additive; i would assume that itself does not have lubricating properties, rather it enhances the properties of oil to improve the oil itself.

I would not go outside of the manufacturers directions.

Now don't be too hard on the guy. If all you've ever dealt with was cars, this question could in some way have seemed legitimate. <cough>

Personally, I'd go with Marvel Mystery Oil but that's just me

It would probably work out just fine, but the $$$ doing it would be crazy, so why.

if you buy new vegie oil then it would be expensive. but if you have a few restorants that will give it to you (rather than them paying to get rid of it) its quit cheap.

Although, I'm pretty sure this thread is actually a hoax created for someone's personal enjoyment, I will bump it along with this:

Slick 50 and other ail additives

I'm sure it wouldn't be called in additive if that would work. It'd be called a replacemantive.

Please document the results for our enjoyment.

Just for grins do a search of API classifications and look up API Classification SG (except the energy conserving types), SL/CF, CG-4 and also look up JASO T 903 Standard MA/MA2 and ISO-L EMA2.

Please people, use quality motorcycle specific oil for use in wet clutch applications that meet the above classifications and standards. Stay away from any oil treatments, they will not work out just fine. This thread needs to be killed before somebody actually attempts to do this......

I see, that makes a lot of sense not sure about some of the other comments though...also was wondering why would it be worse on the gears and clutch? both require a lubricant to operate, if not we would all have dry clutches..Thanks for the input..Maybe i'll find an old bike cheap and try it; still wonder if it would work, being they test the additive on a pressure test metal against metal and state that it prevents wear and friction all by itself.. hummmm wish I never thought of this but the joker has been a good boy lately..

How about other additives like SeaFoam in the crankcase of a wet-clutch engine?

    Sea Foam

Supposely, it could "clean" the clutch plates if you add SeaFoam into the crankcase 50-60 miles prior to changin the engine oil.
