I found this posted in the motorcycles for sale section of Raleigh, NC Craigslist this morning. These idiots make us all look bad.

To the Morons on I-40 Saturday (I-40 East)

Driving with the family on Saturday a group of about 10 sprortbikes riding about 80-100 mph weaving in and out of heavy traffic giving all us riders a bad name.. Go find a track you idiots. One of you jackass' decided to pop a wheelie at 80 MPH just to show off. IDIOT. If you had caused my family to be in an accident due to your reckless riding I'd a beat you worse than the pavement...seriously keep that shit on the track, not pulic roads.

Yeppers.....nothing like giving a bad name to us all! See it all the time! I always hear people complain about cagers, but I see a lot of a-holes on bikes as well.

Problem with this is chances are somewhere during the same ride someone in a car actually egged the guy on to do a wheelie. Happens to me on frequent occasion I know that. Pack mentality + youth = pissed off craigslist guy.

I think I would rather have a guy right next to me doing a perfectly executed standup than be next to somebody on the phone. At least I know he's concentrating. Maybe I'm alone on this one.

Not too long ago I and my wife were riding down a 55 mph sometimes heavy sometimes not heavy traffic.

He did a wheelie, but he was very careful to look around front and back to make sure there wasn't any traffic around.

Don't bet on it. I'd wager it's considered reckless driving anywhere.

Ya. It would be up to the cops discretion.
Cops around here can be jerks. Tho iv never had to deal with any of them in relation to riding my bike.

Right you are sir! Don't get caught here in Louisiana doing it, cuz it's definitely cited as reckless operation.

What way do racers turn? With their knee on the ground? Looked under his arm while in full tuck? Or turned in the saddle, both are the same way I've always done it on the street (depending on speed), but then I am a racer so maybe I never did it differently?

And a wheelie can and probably will get you a ticket for reckless and exhibition of speed in most, if not all, states.

Maybe in practice or on the warm up or cool down laps, but never during a race. We're more interested in what's in front of us than behind. Maybe a quick glance over the shoulder or under the arm, but you tend to lose time and maybe a position by doing it. Fully turning the upper body around would be on the list of what not to do at speed.

Don't know if many of you guys agree with this but us long time riders are some of the best drivers out there! The cell phone users ,reading & makeup applying drivers are doing anything but keeping there mind on there driving they are the real danger on the road. Some times you just want to twist the wrist and blow out the carbon!!! to leave them all behind.

They do have Dinosaur classes for the older bikes, and Super Dinosaur for the big, lumbering bikes like my VF. Or, as my "friends" would call it, The John Deere racer.
