I have owned a 1982 V45 Sabre, a 1987 Pearl White VFR700, and a 1994 VFR750, as well as a 1972 CB450 and 1979 CB650. I sold those and have been riding a 1993 Ducati 900SS, but missed the V4 too much. So, I just bought a perfect, like brandy new 1986 red white and blue VFR750F with 11,000 miles on it. Can't say how excited I am to have another one. Had thought about another 3rd generation, but remembered that I preferred the older bike to the 94, so went back to find a really nice one.

Thought I'd join up on the forum and see if there are any guys in the eastern Pennsylvania area.

You are not far from several riders(quad-state area and the district). Go to 'community' up top, down to 'members' and 'member map'.
    Welcome aboard.

Here are a few photos from the previous owner. The weather here has been overcast. I will take some good ones the next sunny day.

Loopsandlogic... I spent a long time finding this one and think I paid an appropriate amount of money given how long I waited. It really is cosmetically perfect, except a small eighth inch blemish in the paint on one of the gold wings and a few small chips at the bottom of the forks. It has just over 10,000 miles, which was a bit more than I wanted, but I haven't seen one with much fewer miles and none as nice cosmetically, so... I took it. Even the seat looks and feels new. I just had the Race Tech Gold Valve emulators and springs installed and am thinking about some better sounding slip ons. I've heard the Lasers are nice?

Anyway, I now have pretty nice replacements for the bikes I loved the most: the VFR, a GB500, and a Ducatti 900SS. The VFR was as hard to find as the GB500, which has become a real collector's item, though back when I sold my old one, you couldn't give them away... Here's a picture of the GB500 as well.

    Thanks, and keep her safe.

As for that cool gb500, i remember when they came out how cool they were. Yours looks really clean. Been looking long? hijack thread...

Decompson... Thanks. Like you, I got rid of mine and regretted it ever since, so I spent so much time finding one that was "new". Bikes are even less sensitive to technology than cars, so a really nice 86 is just fine today. I think the only gains -- other than heated seats and grips -- are at the high end of sport bikes for track guys. I love the VFR.

On the GB500. I spent a long time finding one. This one only has 3,000 miles on it and is unique, because it has the White Brothers upgrade package that consists of a big bore kit to 601cc, bigegr and different carbs, cams, and higher compression Weisco pistons. It also takes off the smog injector, adds a Supertrap pipe, and has different rear shocks, and shorter sprocket. Top speed goes up to about 120 from 107 and quarter goes from 12.8 to 11.5 or so.

Zonaman... Thanks much. I'm at the age where drooling is a part of my day, but this doesn't help... ;)

Congrats on that fine, original VFR

I love this bike when I bought a new one in 1986, and like others... regretted selling it after 55k. But fatherhood got in the way. So this year, I find a deal on a VFR700F and am in the process of getting it pristine. Great bikes still after 22 years. Most new bikes look the same these days. A RWB VFR still draws more looks and attention then many newer bikes. I don't know what it is for sure, but I like it.

Bernieswanson... I agree. Its got great lines and is uniquely Honda.

Thanks, Ian. While I plan on keeping mine bone stock except for the Race Tech Gold Valve emulators and springs, the turn signals on your nicely modified bike are interesting. Did you make them or are they aftermarket or even a Canadian stock variation?

Hi Gord, no they are aftermarket ..... just didn't like the big orange wings hanging off the side. Thanks for the props on the bike ..... putting a set of USD forks on it this winter and changing the exhaust to a Laser, the Yosh is just way to loud for the street ....:party2:

Good idea, but Laser discontinued the exhaust for the 86 VFR. You might be able to find some remaining stock somewhere.

that is a sweet 86. My first VFR is an 86 F2 that I picked up this summer for 2k. It too has less than 12k miles.

Heres a pick of my VFRs
