Hello to All. I'm the new guy here. Just got my 06 VFR around 5 mo ago, its my first legit street bike and I'm beyond stoked. No mods on it yet, but soon....All suggestions are more than welcome. Hope to be riding with some of you in the near future. Respect.
Welcome Branscome. The Black VFR looks sharp. There are lots of riders here from the San Diego area that meet up for rides, etc. Take Care & keep up informed of the mods.
Hi, don't mod for awhile just ride the bike. I have a 1994 VFR I bought new and it will probably out live me it is 100% bullet proof and I ride it a lot, I have left it pretty much stock; I have a Micron exhaust canister but prefer the stock system for touring. Enjoy your bike and welcome. A pic of my bike and my magic carpet:

Hello and welcome fellow San Diegian! There are quite a few of us from San Diego. I live down in the Clairemont area. My advice: 1. Gear, get some, use it. Yes, I am a preaching gear Nazi! Always wear long pants (riding pants with armor reinforcement preferred) such as jeans as the minimum, full leather/textile armored jacket, and quality gloves. Trust me, my number one reason for wearing hot/heavy gear..."because it's more comfortable than a skin graft." 2. If you have not already, take an MSF safety course. It probably will end up saving your hide one day, and will make you an all around better rider. 3. As far as mods, I would say that upgrading the suspension and having proper suspension stepup is the most overlooked item, and one of the most important. 4. Read MC books on riding like "Total Control" by Lee Parks, as well as others by Nick Ienatch, etc, are very good as well.
Welcome aboard. Take care of your skin, it has taken care of you. Nice bike. Like Jim said, ride it for a bit and see what you think. The mods will become evident as you go.
