Yeah!!! I could go for a little global warming too. I could ride all year 'round!!! Look, when I was a kid, in the 70s, the hotels were about 50 yards from the ocean at high tide. I went back this summer. And guess what, the hotels are STILL about 50 yards from the ocean at high tide. Now, when the ocean spills over into the hotel's swimming pool, I'll believe this whole "Global Warming, the sky is falling" thing, and not until. All the libs are crying "The ice caps are melting...MELTING!!!" and "The ocean will cover the coastal areas". Like I said, the ocean is right where it was back in the 40s, when some of those hotels were built.
Quit "feeling" problems in the world. It seems like all the libs see is problems, trouble. Did you ever think that someone might want to solve their own problems without a bunch of buttinski, do-gooders sticking their nose where it doesn't belong? JUST LEAVE ME ALONE!!! See, you tap danced around the point I made previously, no answer or retort, so I give up. You have no idea what your talking about when it comes the Herr Obama's tax plan, health plan, or anything else. All you want to preach "change" and "equality" and how this country sucks right now and the Great Leader is going to change it all. I'm going to give you some advice since you are in need of direction. First, start by reading our Constitution (I would suggest the Cliff's Notes version for you), then move on to The Bill of Rights. Do NOT, under ANY circumstances, reference the California version of these documents. This will give you the proper context for pursuing an educaton in the history of our country.

Using the last eight years as a history lesson was just too ridiculous to merit a response.

I'm just trying to reach the same level of condescension and smugness you exhibit in your posts so you can relate.

I have to fess up to you folks, I have been intentionally messing around to see how riled up you folks could actually get and just how nasty you could become. I'll admit I wasn't really shocked by the behavior, dissapponited is probably more appropriate.

I am actually registered as an independent and my political views are more down the middle than they are left or right. I have been portraying myself as a hyperliberal from California to see what type of reaction I would get. I got just what I thought I would. I have seen some very ugly things being said by, and to, people that used to be friends (for lack of a better term) around here. I guess my dissappoinment stems from an expectation that somehow VFR riders were a better, more enlightened, group of people than what has been demonstrated. I would really like to believe that you folks aren't actually anything like the folks that have been represented in this thread.

The fear mongering, hate, and intolerance demonstrated in this thread is reprehensible as well as embarrassing. The United Sates of America and it's citizens used to be respected by every other country on earth, but I have to think that the behavior demonstrated in this thread is the reason why we are no longer held in such high esteem by these same people. It is time for a monumental paradigm shift within or country and our government, and I know there are alot of folks who don't deal really well with change and like things just like they are. But, it is more than inherently obvious to me that change has to happen and it has to happen now.

The current regime, has lied to us, spied on us, wasted billions and billions of tax dollars to get thousands of young men and women killed for a reason that hasn't actually been identified, the deregulated economy is in the worst shape it's been in over 60 years, with no quick way to fix that, not to mention that our great democracy is now in debt to a communist country to the tune of billions. Social Security and Medicare are on life support and the constitution has become just a bunch of meaningless old words written on a piece of paper. This is only scratching the surface and it has ALL happened within the last 8 years.

I don't care if the next president is muslim or christian, african-american or white, liberal or conservative, republican or democrat, if he has a name similar to that of a terrorist, if he has tea with castro. These are not the root issues we should be concerned with. What I do goddamn care about is that this country is in better overall shape and world standing 8 years from now.

In closing, I would like to offer my sincerest apologies to anybody who I might have offended during this little charade of mine. In the future, I would hope that we do a better job of being the people I know we really are. Peace and Good Will to each and every one of you.
