Obama secures major new endorsement...

Does Barry ride a VFR? Or any other motorccyle? How about Sara or John? If not, can we get away from all this political drivel and back to why I believe most of us joined this site? Honestly, don't you get enough of this never ending campaign noise from TV, radio, magazines, unsolicited emails, blogs, newspapers, internet sites, billboards, telemarketers, door knockers, bumper stickers, yard signs, etc., etc., etc.? It's not that I think what you're doing or saying is wrong, it just seems to be terribly misplaced and, quite frankly, quite boring (I know, no one is forcing me to read it). I wouldn't be surprised if you are driving members away.

Try not to hate on me too badly, 'cause I really do love you guys! Honest!

 

Very well said. All these political discussions only serve to divide us instead of bring us together to talk about the VFR. I've played a part in this and will try to not comment on political threads anymore. The reason I come to this site is to learn about the VFR and read opinions about VFR-related stuff. I definitely am sick of all the election coverage and don't know why we bring it into this holy place. Thanks for your post.

 

By the way, I bought a used Sargent seat this week and should be getting it next wednesday. I can't wait to feel the difference. The stock one sucks. What's funny is that I've been looking for one for months now, and now that I purchased one, there's another one for sale in the classifieds in the same week.

OK, so that $700 billion, pushed through by this Republican admin, is not re-distributing my tax dollars that I worked for, to a bunch of millionaires???????

 

If you will think back a few weeks, you'll remember that the DEMOCRATS in charge of congress added to it!!! Remember??? They said that 700B was not enough, so they added a heaping helping of pork right on top. I didn't hear any Dems wanting it to be smaller, only bigger. So, that's exactly what they did, made it bigger. I don't agree with this bill. The the Dems loved it so much that they added to it. Dems have been in charge of BOTH houses of congress for years now. So, why isn't everything peaches and creme? I thought the Dems had the answer to all of life's problems. That's what they say, anyway. Fact is, the dems in charge of congress (Obama included) haven't done squat!!! Their plans won't work and they know it, so they do nothing except for blaming the reps for everything from the wildfires in CA to Barney Frank's ingrown toenail.

 

Obama is a half black half white muslim socialist who wants us all to love all with our wallets.
McCain is a 247yr old beat down man who will have a stroke three days in office and the air headed MILF will be runnin the show.

1.) So what if Obama is "half white half black"? What difference does that make? Is this 1965? Check a calendar and get back to me.

I don't think that Obama is going to seize all of your possessions to give to the community as a whole. Trying to equalize the tax code to that equal taxation takes place amongst all tax brackets is not Socialism.

As far as McCain is concerned - my biggest fear is not him being elected, but him winning the race, dying while in office and that airhead Palin getting the big chair. That's scary. So at least we're in agreement somewhere.

You are right, I am a cynic. However the line between a cynic and a realist is frequently razor thin.

As to elaboration, I'll pass. You have your opinion, I have mine. I can't change yours, you can't change mine. All I'll say is throw all the political promises of both sides out the door then look at the men for what they are. Decide on that basis, not the basis of a bunch of political promises.

I like a good political joke, just like the next guy. But sometimes those Obama-haters just take it a little too far. Ignorance must truly be bliss for those people.

 

First of all, you are absolutely wrong on all accounts... Let me parse the piece for you.

The effectiveness of this satire lies in the fact that at some visceral level there is a certain amount of plausibility. Mpst of satire was written with standard DEMOCRATIC TALKING POINTS with some quotations from left-leaning, liberal media types for added humor.

This was not as much an indictment of Obama as it was an indictment of the extremely biased and floral media coverage that many people have widely accepted without healthy skepticism, deductive reasoning, or inductive reasoning.

Point one:
In a brief statement, Mr. bin Laden noted, "Mr. Obama and the Democratic Party share my values, as well as my thoughts and feelings about the United States. In making my decision, I felt that Mr. Obama was cool and articulate. When Mr. Obama speaks, a thrill shoots up my leg. Mr. McCain, on the other hand, seems somewhat erratic. Mr. McCain seems to pose a threat to my overall agenda of destroying the Great Satan."

How many times have you heard it said that Obama was calm and cool and eloquent and articulate? MSNBC reporter Chris Matthews likened Obama's speeches to a "symphony" or some such crap as that. Matthews has a man-crush on Obama. He announced his man-crush to the world when he said that Obama's speeches send a "thrill" up his leg. As often as we have heard how wonderfully insightful and thoughtful Obama is, we have heard the Democratic operative of the media berate McCain as being "erratic." This started when Harry Reid called on John McCain to deliver Republican votes for the Bailout. When McCain responded by going back to Washington, the Democrats had a cow and said that McCain was messing everything up. (Personally, I wish McCain had gone to Washington and said this bill is a piece of crap that I will never vote for.) In any case, I took words of the Democrats and the media and attributed them to bin Laden. In a weird way, it was believable that bin Laden would say something like that.

Point 2:
"When asked for his opinions about Republican Vice-Presidential nominee, Alaska governor Sarah Palin, Mr. bin Laden said, "It would be a curse on the head of any self respecting Jihadist to be killed by a woman. I have had a recurring nightmare about this woman poaching the likes of me and my fellow cave dwellers from the back of a helicopter. I will not sleep until Obama is inaugurated."

The American media and consistent Democratic constituencies like the PETA types have thrown a fit over the fact that Sarah favors allowing wolves to be hunted from the air. This is a play on that type of criticism.

Point 3:
"Mr. bin Laden did have one reservation before making his endorsement of Obama official. Mr. bin Laden said, "I was somewhat concerned that the Obama tax plan would take needed money from the sleeper-cells that I fund in the United States." Fortunately for the global terrorist, the Obama tax plan gives terrorists a 500 dollar tax credit for each of the 72 virgins promised them for dying a martyr's death."

The Obama campaign reports that the 36,000 dollar tax credit given to terrorists is "paid for" by a corresponding tax increase on the owners of small to medium size plumbing businesses.


This point brings out the nature of the Obama tax plan-- the fact is, Obama will punish people for becoming successful (plumbing business owners) and it will distribute money to people who have not paid into the system (72 virgins)... (VT, I will address your restructured tax code argument in another post.)

Point 4
Mr. Obama said in a wonderfully articulated and fluently delivered press conference this morning, "There is power in words. There is passion in words. There is meaning in words. Words mean things. If it were not for words, I would not be saying anything. That being said, I would like to thank Mr. bin Laden for his kind words. I look forward to meeting with Mr. bin Laden within the first year of my presidency."

This is just another indictment of the media types for their fawning coverage about how well Mr. Obama can deliver a speech/read a teleprompter. This is also an indictment of the fact that Obama announced his own willingness to sit down "without preconditions" with the likes of Castro, Ahmendinijad, Chavez, etc. Bin Laden is of the same ilk as Castro, Ahmendinijad, Chavez-- they all hate America, yet Obama is willing to sit down and talk with them.

Point 5
As of the time of this printing, Democratic Vice-Presidential nominee Joe Biden could not be reached for comment.

This is actually quite funny and is merely reflective of the fact that every time Biden talks, he says something stupid. You know, things like "3 letter word, J-O-B-S," and he also says crap like, "I guarantee there will be a world crisis within six months because their going to test Barack.

VT Viffer, you read this and interpreted it as being "racist"... This is because you have been conditioned to believe that anything that is critical of Obama is because of an underlying racial animus. The fact of the matter is this, people should have the right to disagree with Obama without being labeled as a racist. Many of us have serious concerns about his policies. But guess what, I have serious concerns about Biden's policies, Clinton's policies, Dodd's policies, Pelosi's policies, and Reid's policies. If Clinton, Dodd, Pelosi, or Reid were the candidate-- you would be getting the same type of pieces and arguments from me.

I am going to go eat and spend some time with the family before I respond to the tax argument you are making.

 

Not to put too fine a point on it but these expert Scientists don't say Global warming anymore rather "climate change" due to so many parts of the globe having their coldest winter in many years and previous rising Ocean rising examples like Tuvalu Islands were found to naturally sinking rather than the Ocean rising due to Cimate change. What seems to be missed by many scientists vying for their lucrative slice of the " Climate change " gravy train is the World is on its way to a magnetic pole reversal.

Earths magnetic Pole reversal may already be underway although not being understood could take as little as 40 years to complete with unknown possibly cataclysmic consequences like major earthquakes, changed weather patterns and may herald the next overdue Ice Age, understand this process is naturally occuring and not in any way influenced by man....Who knows maybe generating Greenhouse gases will in the end save mankinds current way of life with future Governments allocating household Coal burning quotas ?

 

I don't like Obama for his socialist views. Say what you will, he is what he is. Spreading wealth is socialism. I also don't like his buddy buddy with Sharpton, Jackson, and Aires. People judge you by the company you keep. And lets not start on that wife of his. Her final paper in college was about as white hating as it comes......

I don't like McCain for a good number of reasons also. Hes been waay to close with ol' Teddy Kennedy and the tools they run with. He has one of those short fuses that can get all of our nuts in a vise when it comes to world affairs. And then theres the airhead he has as a running mate. The more she talks, the more she shows herself to be as dumb as a bag of hammers.


Like I said, you should be mad as hell that this is the best we've got. An old man and an empty suit.

Last thing I heard, there has never been a general concensus on global warming. Just because Al Gore said it doesn't make it true. The only thing good to come from Gore was his kid showed that a Prius can go over 100mph!

 

Excuse me but can somebody post a legitimate link to these bin Laden endorsements. I googled but only found a homemade youtube tape (not bin Laden) and some endorsements for books and Bush.

I think this actually demonstrates the plausibility point that I raised earlier...

The piece at the beginning was an absolute fabrication where the talking points of the Democrats and the media were attributed to bin Laden for the purpose of highlighting how absurd the media's coverage of the two has been. This also demonstrates that people could believe that a terrorist would say the same glowing things about this particular candidate as a the media and vice versa.

 

Please name any prominent Republicans who have stated publically that Obama is Muslim...
