I always carry CCW. Hell, these days, the only time I'm unarmed is in the shower...

I don't believe it's really anybody else's business why I carry, other than that of the authority that issued the permit, and I even have trouble accepting that. If they don't get it, they won't get it. It would likely just be a waste of breath answering the question. And besides, I really don't give a shiat what they think. And I won't discriminate if and when the time comes to act. I'll save their loved ones anyway, despite their opinion regarding my right to carry.

why do you think you should need a permit? or some "authority" over you to carry.

I carry a glock 23 or 27 strong side in a blackhawk holster. I also carry a spare 23 mag(support side front). I'm suprised nobody has mentioned that. Remember that most semi auto malfunctions occur as a result of your mags. I also carry a small spyderco knife in my pocket on my support side. I carry 24/7. Remember, you can't dial 911 fast enough for us to help you if you are in an immediate self defense situation.
    Stay safe.

What was the question? Really I don't know what the guy was asking after reading that . Great to know that I am protected by guys wearing glocks in ther jackets while riding 140mph+ on a VFR. The bet protection is awareness. If you think you might need a gun in a location then avoid that location. However, if you find yourself needing a weapon then make sure that you have one and know how to use it. In other words....Walk softly but carry a big stick.

I've thought about getting a CCP, but hate to get put on the list as firearms owner. None of mine are on any registration list and I'd like to stay below the radar. Just my paranoia peeking out. :)

    Bear Gun

They got bear in Arizona? Just kidding.
Depends on the size of da bear. Minimum caliber should be 44 magnum.
For larger bear you'd want a .454 Casull, .480 Ruger, up to a .50 S&W. Lots of kick! But it should take care of a bear. Most handguns made for these large caliber rounds are revolvers. They are usually easier to use under fight or flight conditions and are very reliable.
