Hello all. I've been a member of stowners forum for a while now and an owner of a 2005 ST1300 for over 3 years (purchased new). It no longer thrills me to ride it.

I've (and my wife as she rides too) been dreaming about owning the 2007 Anniversary Edition since it showed up in our dealers showroom. He actually just sold it and it motivated me to get off my butt and do something about that.

I've asked him if he could still aquire 1 or 2 of them. He can. I'm thinking about going in today and trading my ST1300 for one. Any reason why I should not? I'm surprised that Honda has not offered more of an incentive to clear these with a new VFR around the corner and considering that it is just about 2 non-current years old. They still want $12,500 plus pdi/freight for it. Price you have to pay for a great bike I suppose.

Thought will be to give it to my wife in 2 years or so and get the new VFR1000GT for myself at that time.

Glad to be aboard this forum and look forward to learning all I can about the VFR.

I've updated my details. I live in Canada, near Toronto. I have a guy about 3 hours away willing to trade his even as well. He has 7K miles on his.

Our new prices are higher, unfortunately.

    Thanks!

The VFR will not be AS comfortable as the ST. But should be lighter for you and more suited for the twisties if that is what you want. As for the longer rides, it will do just fine. The right set of luggage and an aftermarket seat( says most folks) and maybe some bar risers will set it up for ya. A Zero Gravity wind screen, GPS, and heated gaer seems to be popular among VFR owners.
All that being said, I have taken a couple trips over 1,000 miles on my stock 2000 without complaint.
I do not think you will be disappointed with the VFR.

I too came from a ST1300 (03). It was totaled a year ago last Sunday while 2up. I was getting tired of it before I was forced into a new bike and I'd rode my buddies 04 VFR in the Ozarks just weeks before the crash and i was sold on it. drewl is right about touring on it... my 07 RWB has 9500 mi and I didn't start riding till mid April. 4 three day rallies this year... IL, WI, MN, IA, MO, KY, OH, WV. And it's bone stock. The Throttle Meister has been on the bench since June. Best thing about the the VFR... better handling, less weight, and STOPS a hell of alot quicker. Good luck. BTW last January mine was 9000 OTD.
