    Hi Everyone,

I recently went for a ride. Stopped the bike for gas. Went to restart. Turned the key on and no lights come on. The clock that was on goes off. The main fuse is intact. The battery was replaced. I don't know if it has something to do with the ignitiion where the key goes in or some other area. I am newbie VFR rider so any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance !

You're not the guy from about a week ago who had the same problem...are you?

    1.) Ground circuit fault
    2.) Ignition Switch

    just my two cents.....

    What year bike?

There is another fuse in the cycloid itself that can cause the same problem. On my 86 bike anyway

check where the wires connect to the top of the starter relay for melting or burning

Sounds like the dreaded RR has bit another one? Common thing here with VFRs one thinks its a bad battery and sometimes it is, but there's a reason behind it, the RR isn't doing its job. So one installs a new battery, wa-la everything works till you use all it's juice, then this happens. You rode on a new battery all the while you had another problem you didn't know was about ready to bite you. So what if any thing did you find out? That said there is a chance it's something else too, but this is to common to not look into further. Did you know you can still bump start your bike?

Thanks for the help!! I am going to take it to the shop and these two areas sound like likely candidates to be the source of my problem.

    Thanks,

I do seem to remember that near the stater fuse on the other side there was some scorching. I am going to have my shop look at it. At least I have some idea of where to tell them to start their search.
