Getting screwed by NOOB2VFRS

Some of you might recall my "adventure" with my saddlebag. The bag fell off and got scratched up pretty badly. I posted the story on the forum and NOOB2VFRS (aka Nathan Rogers) said that he would fix the bag for a good price. As he was a member of the forum and previous experience with this type of thing was positive I agreed to send him the bag, along with a check of about $110.00 for the work and postage back. That was in July. After numerous attempts to get hold of him I finally got a response on September 14 that he was sorry and that he had been busy and he would ship it out that Tuesday. After almost a month of continued attempts to contact him I have heard nothing from him. Right now I feel like both my bag and my money have been stolen by him.

I'm not sure whether some peer pressure would help, but I sure would appreciate it if I could get the help of the forum members to get my bag back. Don't even care about the money at this point. Was thinking that a bunch of PMs to him might shame him into returning the bag. Not sure what other recourse I have.

I'd also suggest that you edit the subject line and member name to change to the actual member: "NOOB2VFRS" (you missed the F)

This might help others to find the member...

Michael, I hope things will turn out better for you. I know how you feel when you got screw by some one you think you can trust. Just by curious....You do have his address maybe you should posted on the forum so one of our member on this forum can track him down.

 

At this stage the guy doesn't need sensitive new age pleading. This guy needs to have his a$$ beat for outright theft! I hate chicken sh!! little internet weasels who rip people off and then hide.:soapbox:

 

The much esteemed eddievalleytrailer lives close by and is going above and beyond to help, including doing a bunch to track down information on him.

Too bad about the bags. Hopefully he gets these posts and it's all just a misunderstanding. If it's not, I'm not too far away in FL and we can get some vigilante justice!! Kidding, but that area is so close to the mountains and the Blue Ridge Parkway that it might just beg for the trip.

 

Hey stuff happens hope it gets resolved and all are happy.
I agree the not knowing is the worst part, next time there is contact ask for a phone number that way you can get peice of mind or ask him to ship them back.

RL may have gotten in the way but he should still contact you.

it is good to see members who help a VFR guy, but...IMO Michel has to ask to his bank who "cashed" the check and where...

Name/Address/Phone? You'd be surprised the power of other members "reaching" out.

 

If he own a house, Some one here have a business can put a lean on his house. Or better yet ride out there kindly ask him for the Bags back..............If not let me know I will send some of my connection down there. But it will not be pretty.

 

Thanks to a member I have his work phone number. Think I scared the @#$% out of him when I got hold of him. Promised the bag was shipped. Waiting for the tracking #. I'll make his life hell at work now if nothing comes of it. He's probably still wondering how I got the phone number. I'll leave that member unnamed to protect the innocent.

Your responses have been great and I appreciate the support. Definitely chose the right bike.
