That would just anger people, one reason why montana's roads where so safe was courtasey.

Also just encourages excesive speeding not resonable.

Also joey dude i am tempted to follow your example, but i can weave all the car i like, but when i get home a cop car would be sitting there. damn plate i need to hinge it.

I should also note most posters here have not gotten a ticket on there bike. But yes radar detectors would be nice, i really need to look at getting one hooked up, i have one in the wifes car(she has gotten 3 tickets in 2 years......women)

Ha ha, I was joking about weaving through traffic. Seriously, with the plate your best bet would be to get a fasttags from www.fasttags.com I tried a cheaper version, plateflipper.com but it fell apart, cheap piece of junk.

IMO I would only run if they're going the other way because they can't even see your plate and they have to stop and turn around. Make sure to make as many left turns as you can because they're harder to do for the cop and once you've lost them try to find a good hiding spot. Sometimes cops will radio others and even if you manage to lose him you might run into his partner with your description.

Well, I thought I was done with this thread, but then I read some of the additional posts and could not believe the level we've reached. Are we really giving advice on how to run from the police when they see us breaking the law? My crown vic turns to the left just as well as the right. The radio is fast, and if we loose sight it is common knowledge that most people will take their 1st right. After reading this I will now take lefts if I am looking for a bike.

I can't believe the show of intellectual inferiority and adolescence that is shown when we resort to name calling. What's next? Will we be challenged to fights by the flag pole after class?

Some have said that this thread will not change any of our minds, but it has almost changed mine. I normally cut bikes breaks, but knowing now that I am a dick(I hadn't realized this until reading this post) I may have to change my ways.

Take this for what it's worth. If you want to sound intelligent in your posts, try using capital letters where appropriate, contractions(they're, not their), punctuation, etc. I'm no english teacher, but I would be ashamed to project myself on a forum as one who isn't even slightly proficient in what I can only assume is most of our native tongues.

Forgive me if my post is a bit more aggressive than usual, but the name calling and generalizations have annoyed me. Now I know why I'm not a juvenile detective.

You've finally been introduced to our resident troll, elf800.
elf is not to be taken seriously; his posts are entertainment. Now whether or not you are entertained is a different story and a whole thread could be dedicated to that subject.

Before his post I hope you realize the other posters are just having fun. I don't know how much time you spend on VFRW but many members here rant, vent, say things that are at their best are somewhat intelligent and at their worst completely retarded.

My advice to you is laugh when you read something off, take a deep breath, then relax. It's just the internet.

So, C111, you're saying that by us name calling, and lacking respect for you, that you will now blame bikes as a group and no longer cut us "breaks."

You have no one but your fellow law enforcement officers to thank for pissing the rest of us off and making us think you are all alike. Thin blue line and all that.

    YIKES!! elf has a doppleganger.

So if our law enforcement friend blames bikes although a little hard to do in real time, what if we strike a compromise and blame just Harleys?

I read a post from quite a while ago about someone who was on a dirt bike running from a cop and climbed a cliff, at the top turned around and waved at the cop.

    PUSkunk,

So, C111, you're saying that by us name calling, and lacking respect for you, that you will now blame bikes as a group and no longer cut us "breaks."

I think a reasonable person could draw a logical comparisson.
    HINT: it deals with generalizations.
    I was being facetious.

You have no one but your fellow law enforcement officers to thank for pissing the rest of us off and making us think you are all alike. Thin blue line and all that.

I believe you are refering to the blue wall of silence, that went out with Serpico. Check out the actual meaning of the thin blue line.

In reference to this last comment I would say that it works both ways. Perhaps there are some of our fellow riders( you know who you are) who might piss us off ( maybe they run from us, or just act like asses, or don't think laws apply to them), thus making us think you are all alike. Hmmmmm?
    Whos' to blame?

You guys ride safe. I'm off to school for 2 weeks but will check back on the weekends.

How do you feel about women cops? around here they are terrible. Iv NEVER been givin ANY slack by a female cop.

Iv got caught one day coming home doing 20 over on the high way. Speedometer quit working, it was dark, i was the only one on the highway there. I honestly did not know how fast i was going. The guy cop gave me a 5 over ticket. If it was much faster a woman cop woulda been happy to haul my butt off to jail.

Holy hit the thread with an AED BatMan... Anyway, I saw no reason to start an entirely new thread for this...

Went riding today with a good friend, I on the VFR & he on his SV650S. I've been baby sitting his bike for the winter since he lives in an apartment & has no garage. We were in the vicinity of KWRI when I needed gas so we rode on base to fill up. We left base at 1600 right as day shift gets off work. We left in the midst of bumper-bumper traffic. We get to the stop sign in the tiny ass town right near the base. 50% of the time there is a township unit at the stop sign to catch the pinheads that run the stop sign & speed thru this tiny ass town. This time, there was a unit right where they always sit. No big deal, we ride by at a walking pace since we were in the aforementioned bumper-bumper & he pulls out right behind us. We couldn't speed if we tried since we were at the end of a 20 car line & there was no oppurtunity to pass due to the volume of traffic. He follows us, tail-gating at no more than 1 car length behind. After the town ended & the road goes up to 45, we sped up to 45, now in the middle of a 30+ car line. Neither of us really gave him any thought. Even if the chance to pass presented itself, we would not have done so since both of us keep with the flow near the base & I NEVER, EVER speed thru residential areas, NEVER, EVER. Right where his township ends, the lights go on. We pull over & the two of us were like, WTF? I ask my friend why we got pulled over & he has no clue. The LEO asks for credentials & I ask him why we were pulled over. He said my friends plate shows up in the system but there is no "M" endorsement showing on his license. No big deal, he has a CA license with a permit & is waiting until he goes home on leave to have his license updated. I asked again why we were pulled over or tailed or why he ran my friends plate for that matter. I swear on my GrandMa's grave, he said anyone dressed like me (full leathers) was probably going to be going too fast at some point & he wanted to make sure we didn't do that in his township. He also said he pulls over bikes all the time since us riders usually speed anyway.

    Really??? No Kidding???

Way to go Mr. XXXX Township Trooper. Way to prove that traffic units are tools.

    KC-10 FE out...

I beleive that a basic stop requires a minimum reasonable suspicion, not probable cause - the standard of evidence for a proper arrest.

Iv had cops straight out tell me they are on a ticket campaing. here at least they budget money for x speeding tickets, x seat belt tickets and so forth.

its simply a means of income for the courpt govt.
