SLO / santa barbara area Sunday.
I'm intrigued by East Camino Ceilo from san marcos pass to .....dunnno.....kinda a bit east of Montecito where it appears to twisty turny itself back to civilization.
concerned about road condition. need a dual sport?

Sunday morning ride from Nipomo - back early PM-ish....

    wanna play?

I'm not sure about it down there. It's been a couple years since I was there but I remember a fair amount of dirt. I was taking my 4x4 truck so I didn't pay much attention (it's paved, that's just what I was driving back then). I was thinking of riding tomorrow but the wife will be coming with so we'll stay closer to north SLO. She is not too big on riding very far. I'll run it by her, though, and get back to you if we are coming your way...

maybe I'm headin' off a cliff!

so where is the North county circuit?

We saw some potential roads off of 46, but haven't done any first person research yet.

I know its too late, but East Camino Cielo is a pot holed, dirt strewn, gravel infested road. Views are awesome, and its doable, but slow, slow, slow as you avoid hitting the pot holes and steering around all the sand, rocks, gravel etc.

It was a gorgeous day yesterday, hopefully you had fun whatever you did. I was painting, and crawling around underneath my house working on a kitchen remodel...would have much rather been out riding.

I opted out of the E Ceilo ride yesterday - started late & ended up going to Lopez Lake & followed the sign to POZO till I ran out of pavement. I'm starting to think that a dual sport bike might be of good use around here.......

Thanks a ton for the Road Report - I'll probably pass.....sorry about your painting...Kitchen remodel$ can be kind of time con$uming.......

46 mostly sucks. 58 is the bomb from margarita to mckittrick. 229 from 58- Creston is a must do. Old creek rd from Cayucos to 46 is a must do. Santa Rosa Creek Rd from end of old creek to Cambria is nice views but bad road surface. Vineyard from 46 up to just outside of Paso is fun. Chimney Rock out there is fun as are a few others. Interlake Rd by Nacimiento going out towards the base is fun. Hwy 1 doesn't get interesting until past Cambria. If you look through my old ride reports, you can see most anywhere you'd want to ride around here... Even the BBQ writeups we have are all on these same roads...
