I set off on Tuesday morning from Whistler with Jasper as my destination. I had 2600km ahead of me over the next four days.

    Ready to go.

    First stop. Joffre Lakes.

Next stop over Duffey Lake Road was Duffey Lake. Fall colors.

I motored on took a quick 5 minute break at Seton Lake, just outside Lillooet.

I stopped to take this picture about 60km north of Lillooet.

Moving on I passed Crown Lake, which was very colorful for this time of year.

    Fall is here.

My first Rocky Mountain experience was the tallest mountain in the Rockies. Mt Robson...which stands a little over 14,000 feet.

Mt Robson in all its glory.

By this time, the sun was setting, so I moved on to my destination, Jasper.

The scenery was amazing around every corner.

I arrived at Jasper, around 8pm, after spending 11 hours on the bike that day.

I woke up the next morning to perfect weather. The scenery surrounding Jasper is spectacular.

Started the bike to leave....and what do you know. Dead battery. However I had other suspicions, so I pushed the bike to NAPA, and had them charge the battery.

Just as I thought, my R/R went south on me. Second one in 11 months. Luckily I had a spare. Never leave home without a spare R/R.

With bike running properly again, I set off down the Banff National Parkway, and was treated to amazing landscapes with every corner that I went around.

Moraine Lake....the better lake for viewing, if you are at Lake Louise.

Made it to Banff. Very cool town. Stayed there the night.

The next morning, I set off, and got my first taste of wildlife.

I pressed on and my my way back into British Columbia, with Revelstoke being the next big town to pass through. Glacier National Park was first though.

Pretty good views, while I was filling up.

I said goodbye to the Rockies, and made my way to Nelson.

I arrived at Shelter Bay for my 30 minute ferry crossing.

Once again, treated to spectacular scenery.

    My landing point.

I pushed my way towards Nelson, and found myself riding along a lake for the most part.

About 20km before New Denver to Kaslo, I found the best motorcycle roads I have ever experienced in my short 12,000 mile riding history. These roads were perfect. You could not dream of anything better. Smoother than silk and not a soul in site.

I could not stop laughing, as I was pressing into each turn. For the first time that trip, the bike didn't drop below 7000rpm for a good hour. This is highway 31A towards Kaslo. Go and ride it!

I found myself riding into Nelson for the night, and followed Kootenay Lake in, around sunset.

Today I pressed on back to Whistler.

I headed down into wine country as I followed the Washington border, and heading up into Kewlona.

Once again, awesome roads, and great scenery.

As I passed through Kewlona, I was greeted again, with the nice fall colors.

Absolutely PERFECT motorcycle roads found as you head from Cache Creek to Lillooet.

And finally over the Duffey again, as I hit Duffey Lake at Sunset.

Awesome trip. 2600km in 4 days. Will do it again next summer, in reverse order.

Holy Crap, man. That is some AWESOME scenery. Very nice pics.

Funny story. I had a girlfriend in highschool whose mom was from Banff. She also had a twin. Their middle names are Louise and Lorraine after those to lakes.

    Thanks for sharing.

I agree with Drewl. And it is all right in my back yard. Want a partner to ride with next summer? If I am not in Scotland, and can swing the time, I would love to join you.

Yes, we live in the best place on earth :) even with the shorter riding season.

The thing that always amazes me, is when I think of the people coming through with pack horses "back in the day"

I could not agree more. Highway 31a is 50km of pure perfection. You could never ask for anything more. Even coming into New Denver is wonderful also.
If there is something out there better, I want to ride it.
