Is this as easy as it looks? I am new to the VFR and I picked up a screw in the rear tire. The manual says to have an experienced mechanic do the job, but it looks pretty straight forward in removing the 4 lug nuts and sliding the wheel off. Is there anything I need to know before I take the wheel off tomorrow morning? Does the wheel orient in any fashion or does it just slide off and slide back on.

Talk to me folks....I want to be able to go for a ride on Monday!!

It's pretty straight forward, much like a car. When I had to take mine off, I would loosen the lug nuts, then put the bike up on the center stand, put it in gear, then finish removing the lug nuts. Once the lug nuts are off, the wheel comes off the hub just like a car.

Actually, what you have to do is disconnect the regulator/rectifier first. Then disconnect the battery. Then turn the handlebars all the way to the right and then flush out the radiator fluid....

Just kidding! Yeah just put the bike on the centerstand take the 4 lug nuts off and you're done!

The fast rear wheel removal is one of the best features of a vfr.

    Thanks Guys.....

It looked very easy, but I figured I'd better check and make sure.

Thanks for the help....now if my local dealer who happens to be open on Sunday also happens to have a Dunnlop D208 in the right size and has time to mount and balance it, I'll be good to go!!

Let's not turn this wheel thread into another tire thread.

I know about the Qualifier now....tire looks the same and is still labeled "Sportmax" and the shop dude informed me that there is little difference. I was amazed to find the tire at a decent price and to get it mounted and balanced on a Sunday....so now I am good to go again.....

The Qualifier should last longer than the D208.

I agree with Rev... METZLER SPORT-TEC M3's rule! Have a set on now with 6,000 miles on them and at least that much more to go! No cupping, no hardening, still as sticky as they ever were. These are confidence inspiring tires.

*Did we just change this to a tire thread? My bad*
