A garden hose, bucket with sponge and car wash soap is all you should need.
Pressure washers are for cleaning driveways. :strong:

I don't use a pressure washer on myself and I wouldn't use one on my bike.

    You wash your bike???!!!

I have a 2006 black VFR. I bought it at the end of 2007, used, for a song and a dance, with bags ($7,900.00 OTD on consignment at a dealership. Bike had 735 miles on it and is pristine.). I have 14,000 miles on it so far (less than a year so far). I ride it EVERYDAY, rain or shine, to work, and jaunts to Cocoa Beach on the weekends. My bike sits in the Florida heat in a parking lot open to the elements. In the morning I take a soft cloth and wipe the daily dew off it everyday. I have YET to actually wash it or wax it and it still shines like it's new. I ride it in torrential downpours the likes of which would scare you driving a car, but I am used to it. 1-piece rainsuit and I am good to go! So's my bike! Maybe I'll break down and eventually wax the bike, but nothing has rust on it from sitting out. I always wipe down the forks. The exhaust is bulletproof. I use Mother's on that now and then. Check out my chain on the string about 'waxing your chain 101' and take a look at it!

In the past on my other bikes I used S100 every now and then... spray the bike down with a garden hose in the SHADE, then spray the bike with S100 and walk away for about an hour. Come back, hose it off and wipe down the bike and it looks new. Remember, IN THE SHADE! I never had any trouble with it fading anything on my past rides.

I know a few dealerships that use Plexus like endust... they spray the rag and dust the bike off with it in the showroom. It's a good polisher, but it doesn't seal as well as a good wax or last very long. it's mainly manufactured and advertised to clean your windscreen and headlight and tail lenses

No one ever recommends using a pressure washer because of the electronic gauges. I think if you stand far enougnh away though you can do it safely.

By the way... white??? Everyone knows black is faster!!!

+1 on avoiding using the pressure washers around bearings.
Swing arm / axle / headstem... You don't want to be blasting any of them with high pressure water.
