:unsure:So, after mulling over where I really want to begin with operation Interceptor ressurection, I decided that if I dont clean up things a bit Ill just keep hovering around chomping on the bit. That being said, does anyone have any tried and true methods for removing minor rust spots and corrosion? Im sure I can get the grime off but I am being optimistic in the respect that I dont want to have to replace every weathered component on the beast.

Body shop supply stores have really good rust removers that also leave a great base for paint, you just remove the heavy stuff, brush on, then rinse with water when the metal turns white, I think it's simply called "Metalprep".

Agreed. Look at a product called "Rust Mort" as well. You might want to talke to someone who is into proper restorations of cars as well. they have tried it all.

I used to get big rust places off with aluminum foil and water... give it a try. I know it sounds crazy but it works... then polish it up with some of the stuff the others mentioned...

Depending on the part you can use electrolysis. It's cheap and easy just like I like my women. This is a link that spells it out fairly clearly.

This is great stuff. Now to get a pan big enough to put a 92 Jimmy front fender in.
